"Good evening, everyone! I'm Chef G. It's an honor to be apart of such a special occasion. Tonight, we've prepared a tasty selection of dishes for you all to sample."
I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, trying to focus on the plate of food in front of me. But it was impossible. My eyes kept drifting across the table to Dayvon, who conveniently sat in my line of sight. He looked as infuriatingly perfect as ever, with his dark eyes flicking up to meet mine every so often. Each stolen glance sent a warmness through my chest, and I hated it.
Aiyana sat beside him, her hands resting on her lap with an unamused expression on her face. Von had his arm behind her chair in an attempt to make them look like the perfect couple. I wanted to laugh at the pathetic sight in front of me.
But wasn't shit funny right now.
My mind kept going back to Prince who apparently has been missing this whole time, and how the smoothie bar was mysteriously burned down. All of that suspiciousness had King Von written all over it. It was really taking everything in me not to confront him about it.
I mean, sure I had my issues with Prince, but that didn't warrant for him to die! I was so sick and tired of people dying because of me. It was a guilt that I didn't like to carry on my shoulders. Plus, burning down the smoothie bar seemed a bit excessive. None of that ever needed to happen.
