Part 33 - One Way Road

"Sebastian!?" I silently called for his name while I walked in the hall of the west wing. "Sebastian!?" Now a bit louder.

After he told me to meet him in there, I waited the 10 minutes and disappeared in the crowd. Before the staff, Gaunt family or anyone else could see me, I tiptoed to the fire stairs in one of the backrooms. Climbed all the way up in my dress and heels, and snuck into the west wing.

I opened a few doors, but didn't find him behind it. My heels tapped on the wooden floor, "Sebastian, where are you!?" I spoke with normal volume.

The west wing was off limits to everyone but the Gaunt Family themselves. Not even every staff member was allowed to come here, only a few who worked for the family for more than 10 years with loyalty and success. So I was trespassing, one of the most important rules Mr Gaunt gave me.

At the end of the hall, I was still by myself. And I wondered if I was early, if Sebastian abandoned me or just simply was late himself. Not that it was his signature... He was never late to our secret meetings. "Sebastian!!" I called for him again, and my voice echoed a bit in the hallway. Shit, maybe a little too loud.

A door behind me opened with a high-pitched screech and a big hand grabbed me by my waist, and I was lifted in the air and crashed into a body. My first instinct was to scream and shout in panic while the person held me close to his body. I was dragged into the room and the door quickly closed behind, leaving us in the dark closet. There wasn't much room to move around.

A little lighting Bolt was switched on above my head and I noticed the familiar scent and saw the dashing suit. It was Sebastian...

"Are you INSANE!?" I yelled at him.

"Keep yelling like that, and you find out how insane I am, sweetheart. You know this wing is off limits, and still you're shouting my name in the entire hallway. Do you want to get us exposed?" He snapped back with a silent voice.

I lifted my chin in arrogance, "I couldn't find you, alright, didn't you hear me call your name the first few times?"

"Of course I did, but I couldn't risk leaving my hiding spot with that yelling of yours. What if someone had come and saw me? You maybe have a privilege to marry a Gaunt, but I would be killed if they found me in here" He gritted through his teeth.

"I'm sorry" I murmured.

I tried to move my body, so I wouldn't destroy my ballgown, but there was just not enough space in this damn closet.

I held Sebastian's arms while we both struggled to give each other space, "oops, sorry" I mentioned while I stood on his toes. "Wait, let me step over here" while he moved a bit to my left. I turned my back to him, what only made it worse because my huge ass was squashed into his leg. "Turn around please" He growled. "Ow, sorry" I apologized. He turned me back by guiding my arms to the first position, and we stood like the way we started, and he tried to turn now while I stepped back "stop moving please" he said. "You are too big, we don't fit Sebastian" and I tried to squeeze my arms around him to give him space so he could turn. "Look at that dress you're wearing, so much fabric! Not even to begin about that ass of yours" He blurted back. He took my hands and dragged me in front of him "you are smaller than I am, you fit under this shelve" and we circled around and stood in a new spot.

"This is much better" I sighed in relief. He hummed in agreement. And we were silent for a moment.

"How long do you think we need to stay in here?" I asked after a few minutes.

"Until Jeffrey finished his usual observation round, he does this once in an hour" he responded.

"What are we even doing here in the first place? Like you said, this is a forbidden wing. We can't wander around? I'm not even allowed to come here..." and I pushed back some of my hairs over my shoulders.
