❝ I told Ominis everything. Well almost everything...❞
______________________________
The last two days in Spain felt a little strange. After discovering the witch altar in the library, Marvolo decided to head into town. He said he wanted to give me space to go through the books and scrolls that had been stored for me, but I had the feeling he was keeping his distance for another reason. He spent the day gathering information on Muggle studies, as he had promised his father. I didn't see him at all, and by the time I went to bed that night, he was already asleep.
The next morning at breakfast, we barely exchanged a word. My aunt had the day off and wanted to spend time with my brother and me, so we went to the beach. She asked Marvolo to join us, but he declined politely and went off on his own again.
It was his way of telling me to enjoy time with my family before returning to Hogwarts.
I appreciated the space, but something about it felt... off.
Before he left, he had told me that if I ever needed him, I only had to call his name or send a note. I didn't think it would actually work, but I decided to test it.
Late that night, on our final day, I lay on a lounger by the pool, staring up at the stars. Marvolo was inside, reading in the library.
I cupped my hands over my mouth and whispered, "Marvolo, come here."
Fifteen seconds later, he was standing beside me.
"Are you alright? Why did you call for me?"
I blinked up at him in shock. He had really heard me? How was that even possible?
Laughter bubbled out of me, embarrassed that I had doubted him. "I guess I just didn't believe you."
I patted the bed next to me. "Come lay down. Let's enjoy the silence and watch the stars."
Without another word, he settled beside me. We stayed like that, side by side, neither of us speaking. Just listening to the night, letting the world slow down around us.
By morning, it was time to leave. After saying our goodbyes to my family, we set off for Gaunt Manor.

Marvolo and I stood at the massive gates of Gaunt Manor, where security checked my suitcase for weapons or harmful objects. I couldn't help but think how pointless that was—why bother checking for weapons when we had wands that could kill with a single spell?Still, I kept my mouth shut.
Marvolo explained to the guards that I was his guest, a Hogwarts student, and that I posed no threat. They confiscated my favorite knife, placing it in a special box labeled with my name. When the navy-suited guard returned my suitcase, he frowned but said nothing. He simply opened the gates and let us through.
We passed through what looked like an invisible waterfall, a security measure that revealed any concealed magic, objects, or spells.
All clear.
A staff member cast Levioso, lifting our suitcases and carrying them inside. Marvolo placed a guiding hand on my back as we ascended the stairs leading to the grand entrance behind the fountains.
This place was like a palace.
How wealthy were these people?
Or maybe that was the point—to put on a display of power so that enemies and strangers feared even setting foot on the property.
