Six days. That's how long the damn mission took, and it had irritated Steve to no end. It didn't help that they pretty much had little to no information from this mission, and not only that, it could have been done with three of them instead of the seven that were sent out. It had been a little useless and right now, as Steve rushed down the street to the coffee shop, he was restless. He hadn't expected it to take so long, and the fact it was Saturday, four days after he originally told Polly he'd meet her, he was concerned that she had given up on him.

He should have given her his number, he didn't think of that until after she had left him last time, but if he saw her again, he would definitely give it to her. He came out alone, while the others were still trying to wind down after arriving back early hours this morning from the mission. He knew he'd be in trouble for it, but he didn't care, he just wanted to apologise to Polly for standing her up.

Hearing his phone ring again in his pocket, he pulled it out, seeing Tonys name on the screen. His frustration was building, knowing he'd get an earful from the guy for leaving the compound, alone but Steve didn't care. He sent it to voicemail, bumping into people as he did, then tripped over something, hitting the ground. This was just great, awesome really. Just what he needed.

'Oh gosh, I am so so sorry..'.. He heard a woman say... 'Jasper's lead is stuck around your foot, could you get it off please?..'

Steve let out a heavy breath, and adjusted himself to sit and untie the dog lead. As soon as it was off, the woman in the long brown coat scooped up her tiny dog, talking in a babyish voice as she carried it away. Could this get any worse? He pushed himself up to one knee to get up when he heard another female. This time she was shrieking... 'Oh my god! Yes! I can't believe this! Captain America is proposing to me!..'.. Her voice was so shrill, Steve had to cover his ears as he stood up, looking around at the crowd that was now pressing in. He noticed the woman who was now jumping up and down slightly, her hands to her chest.

'What?! No! Not proposing, I don't know who you are..'.. Steve backed up, seeing that there were people now with their phones out, and the woman's face dropped. It looked like she was about to have a fully blown melt down any second.

'Hey!..'.. A new voice joined the crowd... 'Miss I don't know who you think you are, but making a scene to either embarrass him, gain attention or force him to actually propose..'.. The voice came through the crowd, and Steve felt relief hit him, seeing Polly come to his side. She hadn't looked at him, and he was more nervous about her reaction to him being a few days late than what was happening right now... 'But this is very trash of you. Also, he's already taken, not that anyone needed to know, but you are trying and failing to break up a relationship, that has nothing to do with you..'

'Uh, yeah..'.. The shrill woman, very slim, long blonde hair, a pinched face, dressed as though she was ready to hit up a club than walk down the street, folded her arms, her nose up at Polly... 'We kept our relationship private. And you're trying to steal him from me..'

'Is she being serious right now? Cause I can't tell. That your type?..'.. Polly leaned into him, gesturing to the woman.

'N-no. I'm sorry about standing you up the other day..'.. Steve rushed out. The way she looked up at him, smiling, made him forget for a moment that there was a crowd.

'Its ok. I figured something had happened, so I was there every day. I actually have a favourite chair, and I sit and read for a few hours, just in case you came back..'.. Her hand slipped into his.
