I wake up in the middle of the night to get a glass of water because my mouth is dry.Walking pass this corridor makes me shiver, it's so cold and the radio that's still turned on in the kitchen makes it worst.
„This pajamas are so uncomfortable" i say to myself as i pour water into the glass. It's so quiet, but i assume that there are still people downstairs from the footsteps that i hear.
The radio it's on low volume on a weird frequency, just people talking about the afterlife.„Yes, i do believe in reincarnation, but i'm not crazy to think that i will reborn as a worm" the voice on the radio said. - „That's a funny thought, but how do you know it won't happen?" - „Well, i died yesterday and i'm still lingering in the walls of my house" „I'm so sorry Jenna" the other voice replied.
I look at the radio with terror as i take a step back dropping the glass on the floor, leaving a trail of shards behind me as i rush into the bathroom. „Am i dreaming?" i say to myself.
As going down the corridor my vision gets blurry so i have to touch the walls to find my way to the bathroom. The corridor stretches out like a dark tunnel, its wall painted in a deep shade of gray and everything feels like a dream...The wind whispers through the corridor slipping in from an open window at the far end, the stairs that lead downstairs to where Jenna's dead body is...
As i touch the door handle to enter the bathroom, i hear someone talking but it's not quite distinct, so i turn around and with little steps i look down the stairs corner just to see Anna laying her head on Jenna's body whispering „everything will be okay my baby girl, they don't need to know our secret yet, i miss you so much"
It's not weird that she is talking with her deceased daughter, it's weird that it's three o'clock in the morning and she mentioned a secret, and acted like someone actually talked back to her.
I try to go down the stairs as quietly as possible, when a hand grabs me by the month. The blood in my veins freezes with terror, my hands trembling as if caught in a storm.
I turn around just to see Molly pointing at the clock.
„What are you doing? You scared the heck out of me!" i whisper pushing her hand off my mouth.
„What are you doing awake at this hour?" Molly whispers.
„I needed a glass of water, what is Anna doing?"
„ Grieving Cassie, what is wrong with you?"„What are you doing awake?" i ask looking into her eyes.
„I just.." Molly was interrupted by Anna „Girls?"she yelled while looking up the stairs.
I run back to my room locking the door behind trying to process everything that happened but i hear a knock on the door „Cassie, are you okay?" Anna asks and tries the door handle.
I hide myself under the blanket hoping that maybe she will leave. With tears rolling down my face, i turn around to face the window when i see a black cat sitting at the windowpane.
I scream at the top of my lungs, and after that everything is foggy.
