The Spirit's Lament

Chapter eleven ==> Revealing secrets

     
I open my eyes just to see dark shadows on the walls, circling the area. As i try to stand up i realise that i'm being held hostage, with my hands tied tightly on a boat.
  „Help" i attempt to scream but the pounding headache overwhelms me, and i collapse back on the floor.
The room is shrouded in darkness, illuminated by a single flickering candle. 
   „Molly!" i yell with a trembling voice, hoping that she can hear me.

  „She woke up" I hear from behind the door as footsteps approach me.  „Good morning darling" a familiar voice says.
I open my eyes again and see Anna sitting on a chair in front of me, so close that i can feel her breath.
- What are you doing? Let me go! i yell.
- We finally meet, Anna says touching my face.
- Get away from me! i say showing resistance.
- Why so harsh honey? she says.
- Where is Molly?? i ask her.
Anna stands up and laugh:
  - She's not awake yet, don't worry she will be alright.

I try to break the chains that keeps me hostage but it was vain, i was too tired. As i look around i see Isaac entering the room with a smile on his face looking at me then at Anna, touching her shoulders while she's still sitting on the chair.
  - We got her babe, he says and kisses Anna on the lips.
  „What the heck?" I said to myself.
  - We need to wait until sun sets, and our plan will be complete, Anna says rubbing Isaac's hand.
  - What plan?? I yell looking them straight in the eyes.
  - You will know about it soon, don't be impatient. Isaac says approaching me, you will thank us afterwards.

I'm so confused looking at them acting like a couple, it felt like a dream, is he crazy just like her? Otherwise i can't find a legit answer.
My head was pounding, and my jeans are ripped around my knees, it hurts so bad but i had to stay focused:
  - What did you do to me Isaac? I say.
  - Nothing yet, don't mind them blood stains from your jeans, you're pretty heavy we had to carry you all the way here, Isaac says and sits down next to Anna.
  - We? I ask looking confused.

Suddenly, i hear footsteps echoing from the corner of the room. My breath catches in my throat as i turn my head to see Aidan. He steps into the light, a smirk plastered across his face that sends chills down my spine „I'm so sorry Cassie" he says.
„How could you?" i yell spitting towards him, disgust bubbling within me. The betrayal i feel cuts deeper than any physical pain.
  - Cassie, listen...he says leaning at me, i had to, i'm so sorry...
  - How could you? where is Molly??
  - She's safe don't worry.
  - You tell me to not worry? You helped Isaac kidnap me!! I yell at him trying to grab his hair, i trusted you! i continued.
 
Aidan takes a step back and nod his head in approval to Anna and in that moment, i realise that i can't trust him anymore:
  - So Cassie, thank you for coming to Jenna's funeral she says and laugh.
  - What did you to do her?? i ask crying.
  - Well...let's say that my beloved daughter will live forever starting from tonight, Anna says and stands up.
  - You're a sick woman Anna!
  - Details Cassie, Details she says and walks out the door.

As she closes the door behind her, i look back at Isaac trying to talk to him:
  - What's going on? i ask leaning my head to the wall.
Isaac puts a tape over my mouth and smile on the corner of his mouth:
  - Now i talk and you listen.
I nod my head in approval scared that he might do something:
 
- After Harold died, Anna came to me crying saying that he's hunting her dreams. At first, i gave her pills to calm her down and it worked for few months but a week before her pregnancy due date, she came back saying that he escaped her mind turning into a real spirit that hunts the house walls.

I look at Isaac with terror in my eyes „his really crazy" i think to myself while moving my head as he walks across the room:
 
- And after that, Isaac continues, she came to me more often, telling me about how her husband wants to help her to turn the unborn daughter immortal. I was sceptic at first, but then i had this dreams, Harold came to me saying that i have to help Anna or else he will come after me, and to be honest, i also felt that his spirits lingers with me wherever i go. So i locked up Anna into a mental institution pretending to help her, and no one got suspicious.

The room was absorbed into a terrifying silence.
Isaac looks at me and grabs me by the mouth:
  - And now, the prophecy will finally be complete because of you. Isaac turns his head to the door, Anna should be here any minute with Molly, he continues, i need to wait so Molly can her too, as she will be a part of this as well.

Isaac takes the tape off my mouth looking into my eyes. His eyes are filled with craziness „How come i never noticed before?" I ask to myself:
  - I can't wait to end this all.
  - What happened to Molly? She can't just pass out like that, i ask looking at him with disgust.
  - And you are right, i added drugs in her special drink because Anna didn't wanted me to hurt her by hitting her like i did to you.
  - What about Aidan? Who is he??
Isaac drink wine straight from the bottle and whispers:
  - He is just a friend that i met when Anna was locked up in that mental institution.
  - And you dragged him into this?? I yell.
  - Yes, i convinced him to be part of the plan in exchange for immortality.

I look at Isaac trying to wipe the blood off my head with my sleeve:
  - What do you mean immortality?

Isaac turns around as the door handle moves „here comes Molly" he says standing up.

Molly was still half asleep being dragged my Anna by the rope she was tied on to.
„My precious daughter" Anna whispered kissing her hand.
„Molly" i yelled!
Molly's eyes opened looking at me and with terror in her voice she screams „Cassie! What is going on??'

Anna places Molly next to me, and while looking at her she says:
  - Isaac, did you told her yet?
  - The best part? No. I waited for you to come.
  - Well, girls..Anna says playing with Molly's hair, the thing about immortality is that someone has to die in order to receive that.
 
Molly tried to stand up but her legs are shaking so she collapsed to my feet:
  - What do you mean? I ask.
  - Jenna will come back to life as an immortal, after i kill you Cassie.

My heart dropped in my stomach hearing that, i felt the air getting thick and the walls around me seemed to getting close as if they were about to crush me. I try to say something but my voice cracks so i end up looking at Anna with terror and say on a lower tone:
  - Why me?
  - You're a virgin right? drinking  your blood will assure us immortality, right Harold? Anna asks looking on an empty corner of the room.
  - And sure, we could of just cut your finger and drink the blood, but that's not how this works, we want Jenna to come back to life so we need to sacrifice a soul for that to happen.

     The silence enveloped the room as Isaac and Anna kissed swaying together, leaving the air thick with a macabre atmosphere on their way out.
