Chapter 40: Future Plans

Witira did not say anything after seeing that Kim was back to his usual self. Kim looked away from the Whale siblings and back to Raon.

"Any stagnant mana left?"

"Not anymore."

Since the black liquids and mud disappeared, the stagnant mana no longer remained. Although he could sense this as well he thought it better to check.

All that was left was the sturdy dragon bones that had a high magic resistance and magic capabilities.

"Then you can store these bones."

"Alright."

Kim looked toward the kittens, who were rubbing their faces on his calf. Once they made eye contact with Kim, both kittens started to tap Kim's feet with their paws.

"We thought something bad would happen. Why would you always step forward when you are the weakest, dad?"

"You just have to leave it to our younget sibling. But he can't get hurt either."

Kim ignored the kittens who were scolding him. He then continued to speak with the group as he picked them both up.

"Let's go back."

They had to return to the Henituse estate now.

And a few days later, Kim was able to return home two days later than expected. Cale along with Hans had a message for him as soon as he returned.

"Your fated partner wants to get in contact with you."

Kim only looked at him as though he was asking him to stop with the bullshit before he ignored him and turned to Hans.

"Young master-nim. His Highness, the crown prince, contacted you. What is going on?"

"Nothing."

Kim vaguely answered Hans. However, he couldn't hide the smirk on his face.

"Something that is mutually beneficial."

"Although I have a few ideas to what the contents of the message you left him before you left, I still feel bad for him."

The kittens and invisible Raon nodded in agreement with Cale.

"Ah, and Choi Han-nim sent a message that he will be heading back from the Breck Kingdom."

'What?'

"Little Lock is coming back with him as well. Oh, and even Miss Rosalyn."

"What?"

'This soon? Did they just destroy the Breck Kingdom?'

Kim started to frown as soon as he returned home.

"But young master-nim, what about your guards? I heard that the Vice Captain and the children will remain in Harris Village to work."

Kim started to frown at Han's endless barrage of questions. Hans did not care, as he continued on while picking On and Hong into his arms.

"You said the Vice Captain was staying back to investigate the Forest of Darkness?"

The explosion in the Forest of Darkness. The Vice Captain knew of the cause of the explosion because Kim explained it to him, but the "official" story was that he was staying back to investigate because they were keeping Kim's involvement a secret.

"I didn't need them anymore, so I let them go at the entrance."

The whale siblings had left at the entrance. They naturally had the bottles of swamp water with them. However, half of its contents were with Kim.
