The Right Arm camp was a mess of activity and tension, with rebels and survivors moving through it like shadows. Tents and makeshift shelters crowded the area, and wary eyes watched the newcomers as they settled into the makeshift base. Lila kept scanning her surroundings, her
instincts tuned to any sign of danger, even here. She'd been on high alert for so long that relaxing felt almost impossible.

"Lila," Minho's voice broke into her thoughts, pulling her out of her scan of the camp.

She turned, meeting his eyes. He had that familiar smirk on his face, but this time there was a hint of something softer behind it. "When's the last time you stopped to breathe?" he asked,.

She gave a half-hearted shrug. "It's not really high on the priority list right now, Minho. He just rolled his eyes, grabbing her hand without asking and tugging her to the side, toward a quieter area between two abandoned tents. The small space was dimly lit, hidden enough that most wouldn't even notice them.

"Minho, what are you doing?" she asked, though her heart was already pounding at the sudden
closeness, the way he seemed intent on giving her a rare moment of calm.

"You need to take a break, Firecracker. That's an order," he said, though his voice was playful. She narrowed her eyes. "Since when do I take orders from you?"

"Since right now," he replied smoothly, his smirk widening. "C'mon, just one minute without thinking about survival, about running. You think you can manage that?"

His words hit her, though she'd never admit it. The tension she'd been carrying for so long felt like it might snap under his steady gaze. Before she could even think, she leaned in, a slight, challenging smile on her lips. "Think you can handle this, hotshot?"

He raised an eyebrow, but his eyes flicked down to her lips, and then he closed the small distance between them, his mouth meeting hers in a way that sent a spark racing through her. The kiss started gentle, almost tentative, but quickly shifted as she wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him close. Minho's hands slid to her waist, and suddenly, she was pressed against the tent wall, their bodies entwined.

He deepened the kiss, his hands moving up her back, pulling her against him like he couldn't
stand to let her go. The world faded around them, leaving only the feel of his lips on hers, the warmth of his touch, the way he moved against her like they were both starving for this
connection.

They broke apart for only a moment, both breathing heavily, their faces inches apart. "You're an idiot,""she whispered, though her voice was soft and her eyes were filled with something she hadn't felt in a long time.

Minho smirked, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "Yeah, but I'm your idiot," he replied, his voice low and rough with emotion.

Before she could respond, he leaned in again, his lips capturing hers, more demanding this time. Her hands tangled in his hair, pulling him close as she surrendered to the moment. The careful control she always held, the unbreakable wall she kept around herselt, all ot it crumbled under his touch.

Their kisses grew more intense, her heart racing as his hands slid up her back, his touch sending a thrill through her. He moved lower, his lips tracing a path down her neck, and she felt her knees grow weak as his mouth explored the sensitive skin along her collarbone, making her shiver. The heat between them intensified as their bodies pressed together, everything else slipping away in the urgency of the moment.

Minho lifted her slightly, and she wrapped her legs around him, feeling his strength as he held her steady. She didn't care about anything else but this-about him, the feeling of being
completely alive in his arms

Their breaths mingled, the tension building to a point that felt like it might snap, the world
around them forgotten as they found comfort in each other. When he looked at her, his eyes filled with an intensity that made her breath hitch, she knew this was more than just an escape. This was real, something neither of them could ignore

And in that hidden corner of the camp, Lila let go, finally letting herself be vulnerable in his arms, trusting him with a part of herself she never thought she'd share.

Minho's hands moved slowly along her back, like he wanted to memorize every inch of her. Lila's heart raced as he kissed her again, and she could feel every unspoken word, every hidden feeling that had been simmering between them for so long. His lips were soft, but there was a fierce urgency in the way he held her—almost as if he feared she might slip away.

As she tightened her grip around him, she couldn't help but let a soft laugh escape, the tension finally breaking just a little. "I really didn't think you had this kind of charm, hotshot."

He raised an eyebrow, his signature smirk back in place. "You clearly have no idea what you're missing out on," he teased, his breath warm against her skin. But there was a softness in his eyes that betrayed him, a quiet vulnerability that made her heart ache.

They shared another long look, and Lila's teasing faded. She knew there were no guarantees, especially in a world where every step felt like it might be their last. And yet, here he was—holding her as if she was the only thing keeping him grounded. She felt a rare wave of peace settle over her as she leaned her forehead against his.

"Promise me something, Minho," she whispered, her fingers tracing gentle circles along his shoulders.

He tilted his head, the playful glint in his eyes replaced by something far more serious. "Anything."

"Don't do anything reckless just to protect me," she said, her voice barely a murmur. "We're in this together. I don't need you playing hero."

Minho gave a low chuckle, brushing his thumb across her cheek. "You know that's not how I work, Firecracker. If you're in danger, I'm going to be there. End of story."

She rolled her eyes, even though a smile played on her lips. "Stubborn as ever."

"Guess we make a good match then," he replied, his voice dropping to a softer, more intimate tone. He leaned closer, his gaze unwavering as he spoke. "Lila, I'd cross the Scorch a hundred times over just to keep you safe."

His words left her speechless for a moment. She'd spent so long fighting for survival that she'd forgotten what it felt like to be seen—to be valued by someone who wouldn't flinch, no matter how dark things got.

"I think I'm starting to like you, Minho," she murmured with a smirk, breaking the tension once more.

He gave a mock sigh of relief. "About time, Firecracker. I was starting to worry."

With that, she pulled him into another kiss, one filled with the quiet understanding that, for just this moment, they could let the chaos fade. They could be together, if only for a while.
