In Ekansh's Office :
Urvi stood numb, her eyes fixed on the person sitting across from her, Ekansh Raichand, her new boss. Aayansh's voice broke the silence, "I hope Urvi, you'll enjoy working with Ekansh. He's a genius." Urvi managed a weak smile, still trying to process the situation. Aayansh teased, "This brat can be stubborn sometimes, but I know you'll handle him." Ekansh gave a sarcastic smile which made Urvi's unease grow.
Aayansh continued, "I think I should leave now. You two have a great time together." With that, he gave his jolly smile to both and exited the office, leaving Urvi alone with Ekansh. The air thickened with tension as Ekansh's piercing gaze bore into her. Urvi kept her eyes down, her heart racing.
"Sit down," Ekansh commanded, his cold voice snapping Urvi out of her trance. When she didn't move, he repeated, "Didn't you hear me? I said sit down." Urvi slowly took a seat, her hands clenched together.
Ekansh leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers. "So, Miss Urvi Mehta, what do you know about marketing?" She didn't replied and his frustration grew, "I think you here a bit louder, Isn't it?" Ekansh asked in a stern voice. Urvi then looked at him and her mind raced, but then she began to speak confidently, her voice steady. "Marketing is about understanding consumer needs and preferences. In the jewelry industry, it's crucial to create an emotional connection with customers. Our target audience seeks luxury, elegance, and craftsmanship. We must highlight these aspects through strategic campaigns, social media, and influencer partnerships." She said and kept quite.
Ekansh raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing on his lips. "Interesting. I'm glad I won't regret hiring you as my personal assistant. Your mind is sharp, like.... your tongue." He said sarcastically. Urvi forced a fake smile, her eyes flashing with annoyance.
Ekansh continued, "But you know what? I don't give something without... profit." Urvi's curiosity piqued, she asked, "What do you mean?" Ekansh stood up, his movements fluid, and walked toward her. "I only give someone something when I get something in return." His voice dropped to a sly tone.
Urvi's unease grew as Ekansh stopped beside her chair, his fingers sweeping over the edge of the desk. "What do you mean?" she repeated, her voice barely above a whisper. Ekansh's face turned cold, his eyes glinting. He bent down, his face inches from hers, his hands caging her in. She could inhale the strong fragrance of his musk cologne. "Say that you agree to my terms." he said with a heavy voice. Urvi's heart pounded, her mind racing with worst-case scenarios.
"Wh...at te...rms?" she stuttered. Ekansh's smile grew wider looking her nervousness. "First, you say that you agree." Urvi's courage returned, and she met his gaze. "Why should I agree to something without... knowing?" Ekansh's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched. "You don't like playing by the rules, little girl?"
He leaned in closer, his breath whispering against her ear. "I don't like your attitude. You need to beg pardon for misbehaving with me. For slapping me." Urvi's eyes widened, memories flooding back. "That wasn't my fault...you behaved like a jerk!" She blurted out just to feel guilty later. Ekansh's glare turned deadly.
"What did you say?" he growled. Urvi lowered her gaze, clutching her dupatta nervously. Ekansh's voice dropped to ice. "You know, if you don't apologize, you won't get this job." Urvi's head snapped up. "You can't do that! I got selected in the interview!" Ekansh chuckled. "I'm the CEO, little girl. I can do whatever I want. And remember, I'm just asking you to apologize...yet." He said scrutinizing her head to toe.
Urvi's thoughts swirled, her desperation growing. This job meant everything to her, she can't lose it like that, she thought to herself. "I'm...sorry," she forced out, the words bitter on her tongue. Ekansh's satisfaction was palpable but he pretended as if he didn't hear. "What did you say? I didn't hear. Could you repeat?" Urvi's voice trembled. "I said I'm sorry, Mr. Raichand. I shouldn't have misbehaved with you like that."
