As the moon hung high in the inky sky, casting a silvery glow over the balcony, I found myself unburdening my heart to Abhira. The night air was thick with tension as I recounted everything that had transpired between Krish and me, the thrill of our moments together now shadowed by the dark revelation of his ties to the underworld. Abhira's face twisted in shock as she absorbed the weight of my words.

"I wasn't aware of his connections to the underworld. Are you certain about this? Is it truly possible for you to leave him and move to another country?" she questioned her voice a mix of concern and disbelief.

"I'm unsure. I could leave him, but... I don't feel love for him." I managed to say, summoning the courage to utter the words that felt so foreign to me.

"Avni, are you being honest with yourself and with me? It seems he is the only one who brings both joy and sadness into your life. You respond to his messages so eagerly. What is it that draws you to him?" Abhira probed, her gaze piercing through my facade.

"I'm not... lying," I replied, the internal truth whispering a different story.

"Really?" she pressed on, her curiosity relentless.  Her questions hung in the night, and I sank onto the cool floor of the balcony, my eyes wandering to the stars that twinkled above us. I remained silent for what felt like an eternity, contemplating the inescapable truth of my feelings. Finally, I spoke, my voice barely rising above a whisper.

"When you know he's the one, you just know. There doesn't have to be a particular reason. You don't need a reason to love someone; your heart chooses him before your mind even gets a say. It's something that you can't even control; it takes over you just like that. When you least expect it, it hits you right in the heart. You feel alive, you feel better, and nobody will ever understand why you love him because it's something that was never meant to be understood by strangers- only understood by the two hearts that are together." Abhira's eyes widened with revelation.

"See, I told you that you're in love with him. Remember that day when my parents scolded you for staying at his house overnight? Only I knew the truth then. When my parents started talking poorly about him, you defended him. You said he could be rude or arrogant, but he wasn’t a bad person. At that moment, I realized my best friend was in love with Krish Roy.  But now you see he has a darker side. Do you know why he turned into someone like that? Have you considered what led him down this path? You should ask yourself:Can he be a bad person?" Her words lingered in the air as she moved toward the bed, leaving me alone with my swirling thoughts.
