The tension in the air was palpable as I watched Reyansh call Avni "Jaan," a term of endearment that sent a surge of jealousy coursing through me. Who was this guy, and why did he seem so at ease with her? Avni, my Avni, appeared to be more than just comfortable in his presence, and the sight ignited a flame of protectiveness within me that I struggled to contain.

“Abhira, are you sure I can stay here today?” I asked, my concern for Avni outweighing the chaos of family commitments back home. With my family occupied with Abhimanyu and Aayushi's award ceremony in the UK, I felt a need to keep a watchful eye on her.

“Sure! All the guests will arrive by evening, and we’ve booked each room for them. I’ll arrange a room for you and Uncle Vk,” she assured me. I nodded, yet unease gnawed at me. The conversation took a sharp turn as I probed further, pointing at Reyansh.

“So, do you know who this guy is?”

“Yep, he’s Avni’s childhood friend. They’re like souls to each other. I think Reyansh likes her,” Abhira replied casually, but her words hit me like a punch to the gut. Jealousy flared within me, a green-eyed monster clawing at my insides.

Just then, Avni and Reyansh emerged from upstairs, and I felt my heart race. Abhira greeted him with a warm hug that only intensified my discomfort. My gaze locked onto Avni, searching her face for answers. Did she like him? Did she have feelings for Reyansh?

“Hey, I’m Reyansh. You’re Krish, right? Krish Roy. You can call me Rk,” he introduced himself, extending a hand for a handshake. I nodded, recalling the moment from last night when Avni had mentioned "Rk" during a game. Was this the same person? Did she love him?

“Okay, Reyansh, freshen up. After breakfast, we’ll go to the beach for horse riding, and I’ll show you to your room. Krish, you should freshen up too,” Abhira said, directing the flow of the morning. Reyansh shot a glance at Avni, and she responded with a nod that felt like a silent pact between them. My heart raced with a mix of protectiveness and frustration.
