Happy reading...

Author POV.

"What is this, Vidhyut?" Adhya asked, her brow furrowed slightly, fingers fidgeting nervously with the edge of the papers he had handed her. Her voice trembled, a mix of curiosity and surprise tightening her chest.

Both of them were in their room. The curtains were drawn slightly, letting the soft afternoon light spill across the wooden floor in golden patches. Vidyut had handed her the papers, and as she scanned them, her eyes widened in disbelief. She paused, lips slightly parted, heart thumping wildly, then looked up at him, searching for answers in his calm, unreadable expression.

"You have read it, right?" Vidyut asked, his voice low, almost a whisper, but firm. His hands were clasped behind his back, shoulders straight, betraying a tension he tried to hide.

"Yesss... but why this?" Adhya asked again, raising the papers slightly, as if holding them closer would give her courage. Her eyes flicked to his face, searching for some hint, some reason hidden in the calm of his gaze.

"Only for you..." His voice was soft, heavy, carrying an unspoken weight. He avoided her gaze for a moment, glancing out the window, letting the sunlight hide the glint in his eyes.

"But... why are you doing so much for me?" Her voice softened, almost a whisper now. She clutched the papers to her chest, heartbeat racing, feeling a mixture of gratitude and confusion swirl within her.

"Kyuki Aap Meri 'Ardhanagini' hai... aur ye mera farz hai ki main aapke liye har chiz kar sakun..." he said slowly. His voice thick with emotion. His fingers twitched slightly, resting on the edge of the table, seeking stability.

"Haa... but ye galat hai... and waise bhi ye shadi 8 mahine ki hai..." she said, memories of their time together flashing through her mind. Her eyes misted slightly, hands pressing the papers tighter against her chest as guilt and affection battled inside her.

Vidhyut's heart ached at her words. His lips pressed into a thin line, jaw tight. He stayed silent for a moment, letting her words settle, the weight of them pressing down on him. Finally, he spoke, voice thick with hope and pain.

"To kya aap ye shadi khatam karna chahti hai?" he asked. His eyes searched hers, and his hands clenched and unclenched at his sides, betraying the storm of emotion he tried to hide.

"Haa... to kya aap nahi chahte?" she asked in return, tilting her head slightly, narrowing her eyes, trying to see the truth in him.

"Agar apko manzoor hai to mujhe kya problem ho sakti hai..." he said with a painful voice, stepping closer. The sunlight caught his features sharply, outlining the tension in his shoulders, every muscle taut.

"Kya matlab hai Vidhyut, aapka jab is rishte me pyaar hi nahi hai to humara sath rehne ka kya fayda hai..." she asked, eyes locked on his. Her chest rose and fell rapidly, emotions raw, her hands gripping the table, knuckles whitening as she spoke her heart.

"Hmm... you are right. Pyaar to hai hi nahi naa... to kyu naa ye shadi hum abhi khatam kar dete hai..." he said, a pained smile tugging at his lips. He glanced down for a moment, then back at her, eyes glistening, heart heavy with unspoken ache.

"Whattt..." she exclaimed in shock. Her eyebrows arched, lips trembling, and she leaned back slightly as if the words had physically knocked the breath out of her.

"Haa... jab pyaar hi nahi hai to hum ye shadi abhi khatam kar dete hai..." he repeated, steadier now, though a subtle tremor ran through his voice. His hands rested lightly on the edge of the table, fingers tapping a quiet rhythm, betraying his inner turmoil.
