Author POV.

A...Aa...Aap Yaha...kaise...
Adhrika's voice trembled as she looked at Agastya standing near her bedroom door. Her breath hitched, and her hands clutched the edge of her saree nervously. Her heart thudded painfully in her chest.

"What was my mistake? Kyaa galti thi meri?"
Agastya's voice was raw, sharp with years of pain and longing, his eyes burning with emotions he had buried deep inside.

"Please go from here... I don't want to talk to you..."
Adhrika's tone was loud, almost trembling with fear and a hint of anger. She tried to step back, but her legs felt weak.

"For what reason did you give me such a big punishment? Itni badi sazaa kis baat ki di aapne mujhe?"
Agastya's steps were slow but firm as he moved closer. His fists clenched by his sides, and his eyes never left her face.

"Stay away from me... dur rahiye mujhse."
Her voice cracked. Her hands rose instinctively, as if to push him away, though she didn't actually move.

Agastya stopped at the bedroom door. With a swift motion, he turned back and locked it. The click echoed loudly, sending a shiver down Adhrika's spine.

"What are you doing? Ye kyaa kar rahe hai aap?"
Her voice shook, and her eyes widened with fear. She pressed her back gently against the wall, trying to create distance.

"Do you know where I searched for you all these 4 years? Do you know what condition I was in? Did you not remember me? I don't want answers to these questions... but mera bas ek sawal hai... bas ek sawal..."
Agastya's voice broke into a whisper, then rose into a shout as he fell to his knees in front of her. His tears fell freely, dripping onto the floor, sparkling in the soft room light like tiny diamonds. His shoulders shook violently with every sob.

"What was my mistake? Kyaa galti thi meri? Galti thi bhi to aap mujhe uski sazaa de deti naa... chhod kar kyun gayi?"
He buried his face in his hands, his cries echoing around the room. His heart pounded as if it would burst from the years of pain, longing, and frustration.

Adhrika's eyes softened as she took a hesitant step forward. Her hands reached out, trembling, and she brushed his hair away from his soaked face.

"What are you doing... please don't do this... don't cry... Please aise mat royiye."
Her voice quivered. She tried to wipe his tears, but her fingers shook with the intensity of her own emotions.

Agastya slowly lifted his head. His eyes, red and swollen, locked onto hers. He reached out, cupping her face gently with his palms, feeling the warmth of her skin, the softness of her cheek against his calloused hands. His thumbs traced the curve of her face, brushing away stray tears.

He leaned closer, trembling, as if his whole being wanted to merge with her presence. His chest heaved, his breaths coming in ragged gasps. His forehead rested lightly against hers, and his lips quivered as he whispered, "Rikaa... meri Rikaa..."

Adhrika's hands moved to hold his wrists, her fingers trembling as they pressed against him, grounding both of them in that moment. Her own tears slid down silently, mixing with his sobs, a shared river of pain, relief, and unspoken love.

Agastya's knees dug into the floor as he clung to her hands, eyes searching hers, trying to memorize every curve, every expression, every heartbeat. His voice cracked again: "I... I never... I never thought I'd see you alive..."

Adhrika's chest rose and fell rapidly. She bit her lip to stop her own sobs, but the warmth of his palms, the intensity of his gaze, made her shiver with a mix of fear, relief, and something deeper, something she had tried to suppress for years.

He finally let out a shuddering breath, still holding her face, his forehead resting against hers, his tears soaking her hands. For a moment, they simply breathed together, the world outside ceasing to exist. The only reality was the heartbeat, the warmth, the raw, unfiltered connection between them after years of separation.
