Two lives were saved that day. One man... and one beast.
Red swims across the water with a peaceful expression, (Y/N), Jacob and Maisie sitting on her head as they watch the sunset in the distance.
...
And with that, the world began to change.
Sunlight shines down through the leaves of luscious green trees, a small, cozy cottage sitting on a small hill with a cobblestone path leading up to it.
No one would ever sail the Dregmorr again, and the mysteries beyond would remain undisturbed.
(Y/N) sits on the dock next to Jacob, Blue sitting on his lap and his arm around her shoulders as they enjoy the warm breeze that flutters around them. Maisie emerges from the cottage wearing a new dark green dress, giggling as she races down the path in skipping steps towards them as she swings a fake wooden sword Jacob had crafted for her at the bushes along the path.
Jacob smiles when he notices Maisie, (Y/N) outstretching an inviting arm with a grin to the girl for her to join them. Maisie eagerly takes a seat next to (Y/N), kicking her bare feet into the water below. Blue croaks happily as he climbs onto her lap, making her giggle as she strokes his head.
I don't think about it much though.
Maisie peers between Jacob and (Y/N), the smile on her face growing.
Red is safe, and I have everything I need right here. A mum and dad, who both love me and care for me.
Jacob looks down to (Y/N), making her look up in question. She smiles as he presses a kiss to her lips, hugging her to his side.

Seagulls fly rapidly with happy screeches, Red's horn emerging from the waters as she swims across the sea.
We're going to live a great life here. Together.
