Third Person P.O.V

Seagulls loyally follow above the Red Bluster as she was pulled along by the ship, a sad, pained groan leaving her.

...

(Y/N)'s eyes slowly open, her vision blurry as she looks up at the ceiling with confusion. She could hear muffled talking, and saw an unfamiliar man wearing a doctor's coat walking around. Her breathing was still a bit uneven and shallow, her eyes scanning around the room.

Maisie sat close to her on her lefthand side, a bandage wrapped around her head with some blood seeping through it on her temple. Her face was set in a dark glare, (Y/N) following her gaze over to where Jacob sat, his back to her as he quietly spoke with Crow, who was sitting in front of him. Sarah was leaning on the doorframe, listening with a thoughtful frown with her arms crossed over her chest.

(Y/N) looks down at her arm, spotting a clear tube filled with blood secured in her bandaged arm. She follows the tube up with her eyes, noticing it was connected to Jacob's arm. She could feel her stomach was wrapped up in bandages as well, and she had on a fresh shirt.

"I see."

Her hearing clears up as she hears Crow utter these words.

"That's... quite a story, Jacob," Crow clicks his tongue, leaning forward in his seat. "Two hunters what befriended a beast. Hmm."

Jacob frowns as he looks down, Maisie's jaw clenching angrily as her eyes narrow further.

"The beast what took me deadlight." He reaches up, touching his eye patch before scowling. "What am I to make of ye both, Jacob?"

Jacob sighs through his nose. "That... thing, and us... we, uh, had... uh... an understanding."

Maisie scoffs under her breath, shaking her head as she watches Jacob's back.

"A truce, hmm?" Crow muses lightly. "But there cannot be a truce without war. Whatever happened out there is nothing against hundreds of years of war."

Maisie looks to her right, hearing (Y/N)'s breathing pick up a bit. She perks up at the sight of her awake, (Y/N)'s eyes settled on Maisie's dagger hanging from her satchel hanging on a nearby shelve. Maisie follows this, spotting the dagger as well.

"I've always known what I was, Jacob." Crow shakes his head in disappointment. "I'm the son of a captain, who was the son of a captain, and if we are born to fight, then by God, let's fight! That we may be tested and find our greatness."

Crow's words were hasty and a bit hysteric, (Y/N) watching him warily with narrowed eyes.

"So I ask you, Jacob... my son," he emphasizes, Jacob watching him with uncertainty. "Are you and the lass... my enemy?"

Crow cocks his head to the side, squinting accusingly at Jacob. (Y/N) becomes more awake at this, sitting up just a bit as she readies herself.

"She already betrayed me once," he shakes his head slowly, Jacob's hand tightening on his knee. "What's to say she won't again? No. Won't give her that chance."

Sarah's eyes flick over, her eyes narrowing as she frowns.

"I promised that I'd--" Jacob starts, Maisie leaping up from her chair and darting across the room.

She staggers and grabs her dagger, wielding it in her hand as she charges at Crow.

Crow watches her with what seemed to be amusement, Jacob rising and grabbing her arm just as she neared him.
