The first few minutes of dinner feel like usual

The first few minutes of dinner feel like usual. Everyone is talking, eating, and sitting calmly on the benches.

Until I notice the ones in front of me—Clint, Jeff, and Newt—are a little too calm. Like, suspiciously calm: they're silent, but tapping with their fingers or legs.

I don't mention it, though. When I look around for a second time, I find out what's off.

Zee is nowhere to be seen.

Frowning, I check again. I'm not in immediate need of a conversation with her, but this feels strange.

I don't mention that, either. There's many possibilities and I'm sure they know where she is. Alby literally told all Keepers to keep an eye on her. Winston had to hide the knives from the Bloodhouse and Fry was supposed to put them somewhere she wouldn't immediately look, but a still reachable place. But Fry's almost always in the kitchen, and she was still peacefully asleep this morning, so that can't be it.

Finally, Ben speaks up. "Where's Zee?"

The three boys immediately straighten their backs. "Zee?" Jeff peeps.

"As in, Zora?" Clint's even higher pitched.

"Yes, as in Zora..." Ben frowns. "Is something wrong?"

The three boys share a glance, then start chuckling endlessly. "Wrong? Why would something be wrong?" Newt's smile fades halfway through his sentence, and he sighs.

Ben and I stare at them. The Med-Jacks stare back, trying to hold the corners of their mouths up, but just like Newt, they give up with a sigh.

"What happened?" Ben asks worriedly. "Is she okay?"

"Well..."

"We might've lost sight on her after lunch," Jeff admits.

"While we were supposed to look out for her because she was working with us today," Clint adds.

"So we went looking for her," Jeff continues.

"And we found her," Clint confirms.

"And..." Jeff turns to coworkers, stabbing an elbow in his side. "Why did you purposely make me say it?"

"You haven't said it yet so I haven't done anything," Clint defends. He nudges Jeff back.

"We, eh, we found her," Jeff says—

"I already said that, dumbass. Just say it."
