The Revival

Adjustments

The next day, Max goes downstairs for breakfast, and after a microwave goes off, Emily, now wearing a Pink Turtleneck shirt with stars, Calvin Klein jeans, and a pair of red socks, has a question.

"What's this noise?" Emily asked.

"That's the microwave." Max replied.

Emily was still confused.

"What's a microwave?" Emily asked.

"Microwaves are used in microwave ovens to heat food quickly by shaking it. Microwaves are absorbed by food, pass through glass, paper, and plastic, and are reflected by metal." Max answered.

Everyone in the house was shocked by this knowledge.

"Where did you learn that?" Dani asked.

"School." Max answered

He gave a sly facial expression to Dani. Unknown to any of them, a black liquid-like creature, known as a symbiote, entered the house.

Max had showed Emily his drums, which she appreciated.

"In your time, how did you find entertainment?" Max asked.

"Well, we basically did some dances, and I loved to dance to the music playing at the time. We danced to fiddles and fifes." Emily replied.

"These days, we've got iPods, radios, and some advancements in instruments." Max said back to his adoptive sister.

The symbiote has entered Max's room, and hid, waiting for the proper time to strike.

After Emily left, Max wanted to continue helping his adoptive sister adjust to the modern world, but the symbiote latched onto Max.

Upon a scream being heard, Dani ran to check up on her brother, and the symbiote, referring to itself as Venom, had finished with it's bonding process.

"Are you alright?" Dani asked.

"It was just a flashback I was having of when those Sandersons came." Max replied.

Emily also heard.

"That name you mentioned, were they the ones who killed me?" she asked.

Dani nodded yes.

Jenny Dennison came into the room.

"Time for school." she ordered.

The three came downstairs, but Max had something to ask.

"You never told us that you enrolled Emily in school." Max, under Venom's influence, commented.

After arriving, Venom went back inside Max. 

He pulled out a red Sony Walkman cassette player and a cassette that had several songs from the 1950s to the 1990s that he used a Macintosh LC III to burn the songs onto the cassette.

"This is a Sony Walkman. It's one thing we use to listen to music these days." Max replied.

Emily took it, and Max told her which button is which. 

She thanked him with a small kiss to the cheek, and as Max entered the school, he waved goodbye to both of his siblings.

Emily waved as she was listening to Happy Together by The Turtles.

Dani also waved as Max entered the school.

While walking down the hallway, Max is asking himself what happened in the car.

At lunchtime, Max was about to get his food, but Jay and Ernie stepped in front of him.

"Where do you think you're going, Hollywood?" Jay asked.

Max shows an angered facial expression as the black eyes of Venom were showing, and an increase of strength was starting.

He tossed Jay onto the floor, then stomped on his arm, breaking it, in addition to a broken left leg.

The next victim was Ernie, who was tossed at a wall, where he landed on various cooking equipment before rolling onto the floor.

Allison also fell victim to the pair's bullying since childhood, and she was impressed by Max's increase in strength.

"Have you been working out?" she asked.

Max's response came in the form of an "I guess."

He had a confidence boost, and after lunch, most of the students left the lunchroom as two ambulances came, where Jay and Ernie both were brought to the hospital, pure fear expressed on their faces.

Max was shocked about it, but went to class, as he didn't injure Jay and Ernie willingly, he only did so due to Venom's influence.

He sat down, contemplating what had transpired.

He knew that Jay and Ernie were freed from where they were kept 1 month prior to their injuries.
