1989's Pov:I woke up to the most annoying loud alarm blasting right into my ear.
I groaned, shoving my face further in my pillow.
I turned over, gasping a little as I saw Mid sleeping next to me.
Oh, that's right.
I smiled a little, but it quickly fell when I realized the day.
Monday. And I hadn't done my second period homework.
Shit. Shit, shit, shit.
My grades are gonna fall, then I'm gonna get grounded, then I won't get into college, then I'll be homeless cause I couldn't find a job, then-
"Nine?" Midnights said, rubbing her eyes.
"Uh- I- wh-..." I stammered, and then realized, shit, I'm hyperventilating.
But the teachers will hate me! It's the third week and the teachers will hate me, then they'll put my grade down, and boom, I'm in a homeless shelter, jobless.
"Nine," Midnights started, concerned, as she took in my state.
"Hey, hey, nine. Look at me, baby girl," She cooed, pulling me into her.
I let out a little whine, looking up at her shakily.
"Hi. Okay, we're gonna go in for 4, you're gonna hold it for 3, then out again for 4, okay?" She smiled.
I tried, starting off shakily. She continued to give me gentle reassurances, all while I sat there as if I was shot.
Eventually, I managed to calm down, my breathing slowing to shaky deep breaths.
"There you go. What happened?" She asked, cocking her head to the side.
I sighed, leaning into her, and wrapping my arms around her neck as I tucked my head into her shoulder.
I felt her arms close around my waist, pulling me closer, her heartbeat slow and her behavior patient.
"I... forgot to do the homework... and... I'm gonna get a bad grade, and then I'll end up homeless and jobless..." I muttered quietly, enjoying the closeness of our figures.
That was, until the figure I was leaning on started shaking in laughter.
"Hey! I'm serious!" I frowned.
She flopped back on the bed, her arms now around herself as she laughed hysterically.
I tried to stay frowning, but my face lit up in a smile as I giggled a little. "I'm serious, mid!" I giggled.
"Y-y-yup!" She said through laughs.
I started full on laughing as I fell back next to her.
"Okay, okay," she said as she stopped laughing.
"I'm sorry, it's just... you jump from missing one homework assignment to 'oh, I'm gonna be homeless and jobless,' like... where the fuck did you get that?" She said through giggles.
I giggled as I responded. "I dunno. I'm stupid." I joked.
"No," She shook her head.
I looked at her confused.
"I meant that you're not stupid. You're like the smartest person I know." She shrugged.
I could feel the heat rising to my cheeks, and I was pretty sure I looked like a tomato.
