Chapter 37

It was 12:00pm and Antoniyo arrived at West Egg Cafe and went inside. He spotted Ma'Kailah and walked over to her table and sat down. She wanted closure and needed to understand why he would do something to her like that.

She trusted him around Kalleigh and never wanted to question their friendship nor their relationship.
Antoniyo explained everything from the senior ditch day trip up until now.

Ma'Kailah started crying as he was telling her, she felt her heart actually caving in. It's been going on for about a year and not only did he cheat on her, he had a baby as well. Antoniyo apologized and told her that even though he had no real explanation for why he cheated, he was truly sorry from the bottom of his heart that he wasn't man enough to walk away from her.

She was too good for him but his heart just wasn't with her anymore. Five minutes later, Rhyon walked in and noticed Ma'Kailah and Antoniyo and went back out to his car. They didn't notice him up until he came back in and shot Antoniyo in his back twice.

Blood splattered on Ma'Kailah as she looked up and saw Rhyon still holding the gun pointed at him and let off another shot, hitting Ma'Kailah in the center of her forehead. People screamed and ran over to them both as Rhyon sat down at the bar waiting on the police to arrive.

Antoniyo was still conscious as he slowly got up and went over to Ma'Kailah to keep her talking so she wouldn't die. Ma'Kailah began to lose consciousness but her last words to Antoniyo was "I still love you" as she closed her eyes. Antoniyo hollered and screamed "nooooo!" as he kept trying to get Ma'Kailah to open her eyes.

The police and ambulances arrived and rushed in over to Antoniyo and Ma'Kailah, but he told them she was already dead. Officer Thomas requested for the coroner to come to the scene asked did he see who was responsible for the shooting, and Antoniyo pointed over to Rhyon.

The officer noticed who Rhyon was off bat and cuffed him and read him his rights. Rhyon waived his rights and told them to take him. Antoniyo was rushed to Piedmont Atlanta Hospital and had the nurses call Kalleigh to let her know what was going on.
