Chapter 14 Late? No.
Third person pov.
Jade Davis rushes down the hallway fast to get to Carmen.
She was very lucky to be able to leave her class a bit earlier today so she would be able to get to Carmen at the right time and show her to her next class for a good time; so at the end she wouldn't be late for any of her own classes.
However, she was only able to leave two minutes early, not much time to actually get to Carmen and show her to her next class and then get herself to her next class that was once again across the school from Carmen's. Her teacher was an asshole.
Jade was happy to see Carmen waiting for her, “Sorry,” she stands straight up and flat her shirt down, “that I'm late, I ran here.”
Carmen turned her attention away from a rushing away Rose to Jade, who's standing close to her, out of breath. “You're not late… I just got out of class… You're actually earlier than I expected.” That was the truth. Carmen expected to be waiting longer for Jade, but she wasn't.
Jade nods her head, “Right, ok… Sorry.”
Carmen was confused about why she kept apologizing to her. She was on time, “It's fine, really,” she said.
Jade nods her head, “ok, then… On words!.”
Time skip. Hours later.
Four a.m. had hit. That meant the bell had rung through the school; meaning the last class of the day had just ended for the rest of the school.
Some teenagers were able to leave school early, that would be because their last class ended at three a.m. and they had nothing left to do at school. So why stay?
Both teens were excited for the day to be done.
For a few reasons, one being school was done for the day, and the second would be because they had a feeling that this class only had a few more lessons, homework and tests for them to do before they were done with this class for life. Their marks for the class were so close to being the marks they needed to finish it all. So it being done for the day was exciting for them.
“So anything you doing after this?”
Jade had gotten Carmen's attention again. She looks over to her new friend. “Yeah, my dad and I are going shopping for food, snacks, and drinks because he's bringing people over tonight. I have to get home very soon so we can go shopping and then get everything ready before they show up. What about you?” Carmen asks as she opens her locker door.
The two have stopped at their locker to place everything they didn't need to bring home with them in their lockers. “Nothing really. Probably just go home, maybe watch something… maybe nap, I don't fully know yet,” she said, shrugging her shoulders.
She was kinda hoping Carmen didn't have anything happening so they could maybe hang out. Her parents are almost always out of the house, so she gets lonely very fast. So, like today.
She didn't really want to be alone.
Carmen had a great idea that she didn't think much of, “You want to come over… I don't think my dad would mind….” She started, but then quickly thought it over, “I should probably call or text him first though… but if he said yes, would you want to come over?” She asks as she grabs her phone from her back pocket to text her dad about if her friend could come over even if people were already coming over today.
