Thomas was leaning on Newts shoulder, almost fully awake, the other gladers were sleeping like they havent blinked in the last decate. The boys liked how peaceful it was. But there were still gladers around, so they coudn't talk above a whisper.

"When are the shanks going to wake up, it feels like they have been sleeping for years." Newt whispered, looking around the room, almost pure darkness. "You haven't rested an eye Newt, are you sure you don't want to sleep?" Thomas asks, worried. "I don't know, there's something keeping me from sleeping." Newt admits and looks over to Thomas. "What?" Thomas asks, keeping eye contact. "Thats the thing, I don't know." Newt sighs, leaning his head on Thomases. "But if you knew, you woud tell me, right?" Thomas asks. "Tommy, I woud tell you everything." Newt replies, a faint smile appearing on his lips. "The dream, the klunking dream." Newt admits, his smile disappearing.

"Dream? Oh right." Thomas says, as he remembers what Newt meant. "Tommy, you -or us both- were working with the people that built the maze. Obviously that's useless, now that our klunking memories are wiped. I don't know what was going on inside our minds." Newt said, letting out a faint sigh.

—————————

Thomas took a step over a still-sleeping glader to open the door. The glade seemed as normal as before, nothing was ruined-

The sky.

"Newt. Newt!" Thomas yelled for the boy. "Im right 'ere Tommy." Newt said behind him. Thomas had moved out of the doorway and pointed at the sky.

"Fuck." Newt said.

"Mhm"

Newt looked over to Thomas, having no idea of what to do. The glade has never been gray. The other gladers were rushing outside, filling the glade with yelling and surprise. Thomas needed a break from it all. "I'm gonna go check out Alby, see if he's okay, you stay here Tommy." Newt says, leaving Thomas alone with the other gladers, still arguing about the weather.

"Man, where's the yellow guy?" Minho asked in confusion, his gaze fixed at the sky. "I dunno man, it's all too much." Thomas replied, looking over to the leaving Newt.

Thomas had started to remember what Teresa said to him in his mind, maybe she had something to do with it, but there was no way that Thomas woud speak to her. "I'm going to go check the klunking maze, see if anything changed, you coming shank?" Minho asked, looking iver to the thinking Thomas. "Alright." The brunette said, as he started running into the maze.

He hoped that Newt was okay from the stress, he sure wasn't, but he hoped Newt woud atleast tell him, if he wasn't feeling good.

The boys were running slower than before, making sure to check their surroundings as the maze seemed to be more dangerous than before. They were both deep in their thoughts, so they were okay with not speaking to eachother.

"IM GOING TO GO INTO THE GLADE EITHER YOU WANT IT OR NOT." Thomas roared, crying. He had missed his Newt so much, he was starting to go crazy. "Tom, it's dangerous out there." Theresa said calmly. "Do you think I give a flying fuck? I want to see Newt so badly." Thomas had calmed down. "Alright, but you will have to convince Ava and Janson." Theresa said.

"Please, I want to see him." Thomas begged the rat man. "No way Thomas, were this close to finding a cure, and you want to risk your life for some boy?" Janson raised his tone. "He's not just some boy, and if I'm going to die there, than let me. At least I will have a use then." Thomas yelled.

Thomas was being sent into an operation room, his body covered in a blanket, leaving only his face and hair seen. His face seemed peaceful. "Alright, this is going to sting a bid Thomas." Was that Ava?

————————

Thomas came back to reality, he didn't know how much time he was hallucinating for, but the runners were going back into the glade. He needed to see Newt as soon as he got back.

"Wheres Newt?" Thomas asked the first shank he saw. "I don't know man, I last saw him wandering in the woods, something is wrong with him." The glader said. Thomas didn't know his name, but he thanked him, and immediately ran to the forest.

He saw newt, his back turned away from him, looking into a nearby river, seeming deep into his thoughts. Thomas lightly tapped him on the shoulder, so the boy woudn't flinch. "Alright, start." Thomas ordered Newt softly, as he sat near him. Newt let out a big sigh. "Everything is too much Tommy. I don't think I can take it anymore, if you weren't here, I'd probably given up already." Newt quietly said, focusing on the moving water infront of them. "Newt I promise you it's going to get better. Athough I don't know why the sky is gray and the doors weren't closing. We just have to push through this. I need you to not give up, please." Thomas said, looking over to Newt. "I have always been the strong glader, nothing coud ruin me, I was like stone, what is happening with me Tommy? " Newt asked the boy. "Newt, no one is like stone, you were pushing your feelings away to be strong for the other gladers, they needed it. But as a result of pushing your feelings away, you started self-harming. " Thomas quietly said the last part, knowing Newt was sensitive to it. "Tommy I was the reason you are in this hellhole, it was my fault." Newt murmured. "And I'm glad I am in the hellhole, with you. Otherwise I woudn't have seen you ever again, you woudn't have known me." Thomas carefully chose his words."that woud be pure hell." Newt smiled to the boy. "And I promise you, were going to make it out alive and safr, I promise." Thomas comforted the blonde. "Don't promise things you don't know are true." Newt said. Thomas sighs :"I don't know for sure, but I will fight with my life for it." He says, "we shoud go to the rest of the gladers, if anyone has suggestions about what we shoud do." He said, grabbing Newts hand and softly pulling him up. "Alright. I love you." Newt smiled, as he lifted himself up.
