4. Phuwin

       Hello, I'm Phuwin! I couldn't believe it when I encountered Pond again. He is looking so much more handsome than I remembered from our school days! You're probably hating me a little right now because of the way I left, but I wanted to date him just as much as wanted to date me. First of all, I didn't know how my parents would react once I told them I was gay, and second of all, I didn't want to risk losing a really great guy as my friend.  So many great relationships I've heard end in disaster because they become romantic. Of course that didn't happen between Winny and Satang. Maybe having a lover wouldn't be so bad. I'm really happy  Winny let me play for the customers at their nightclub, and I'm allowed to play there every Friday night, and the rest of the time working there! I work part time at the hospital, but at the gift shop. Not as one of the doctors there, thank God. I faint at the sight of blood, anyway!  It's really fun working there, and everyone is so nice. 

It's rather ironic that work there actually, because my sister needs surgery for her eyes, and our family isn't the wealthiest out there. My parents had lost their job during the pandemic so things are kind of tough for us right now, but all of us have part time jobs at least so it's something.  My mom is a music teacher and teaches from home, and my dad builds instruments and owns his own shop! His dad owned it before him, isn't that cool? So we're doing okay, and surviving, but I am worried about my sister because she's becoming blind and has lots of headaches. She can't go to school anymore and is currently home schooled. She is two years younger than me so in that light I feel very protective of her. We are also close, like best friends. 

Anyway, let's get back to the party shall we? As Pond and I are dancing together, my heart starts pounding in ways I can't understand. I used to be in love, but not like I was with Pond. Gazing into his eyes, I want nothing more than to kiss him. I know this is wrong, because we haven't faced each other in months. But his eyes were speaking to me, as if he was telling me the exact same thing. I couldn't help myself. I leaned in, so did he, but at the last second Auo poked one of the balloons so it made a loud popping noise, and we jumped out of our skin. It's probably a good thing though, other wise who knew what might have happened?! 

"This party is for Winny and Satang! Don't steal their thunder!" Cried Auo angrily. 

"We're not stealing anything, just dancing!" 

"Yeah yeah, I watch BL series I know how your mind works." Said Auo pointing his finger at us. We both look at each other with guilty expressions. 

After the party was over, it was pretty late, and both of us were a little drunk, so we decided to take a Taxi and I would have the driver home first. I really had a good time there, reminiscing with Pond and eating cake and pizza, playing some dance game on Satang and Winny's flat screen TV, plus singing karaoke, but now it was nearing midnight and I was dog tired. 

When we reached Pond's home, his mother was there at the door to greet us, and she seemed glad that I had brought him home considering his condition.  

"Your welcome Ma'am it was no trouble. The Taxi man saved our...Oy!" I was shocked. The taxi guy left the house, leaving me stranded outside Pond's door! I looked at his mother nervously.

"Don't worry dear, you can stay over if you want. You're his friend so I don't mind! Just make sure to call your home so your parents know you're safe." Said his mother kindly. I felt ever so grateful for her hospitality and generosity. 

"Thanks so much ma'am and sorry for such short notice." Well, that taxi guy isn't getting any tip from me. I said to myself in my head. 

So I was spending the night with Pond?! After not seeing him in years? What were we supposed to do, sleep in the same room?

"I'll make up the guest room, it's no trouble at all dear. Make yourself at home!" Seriously, could this woman read my mind or was she trying to get us together? No matter, I did what she told me and by the time I brushed my teeth, using a fresh new tooth brush she had set up for me. Not too long after, I noticed my bedroom was all set up too, just as if I was staying at a hotel! 

Happily I closed the door, got into some fresh pajama's and dove into bed. I was beat, and as I slept, I dreamed of me and Pond on our wedding night.
