My Love And I

7. First Kisses

       Pond and Phuwin had been getting pretty close since their first encounter at the club, especially after their long absence of not seeing each other. Phuwin really liked working there and Pond was very helpful, and the two ended up staying after hours just talking and having drinks together. Non allelic of course.  Winny and Satang didn't mind, they trusted them to look after the place. 

One night when Phuwin was cleaning up, Pond went over to him, and took the broom from his hand. His hand touched his unconsciously. 

"May I?"

"Uh, sure." Phuwin said smiling, feelin grateful as his arms were getting rather tired.

"How's your sister doing?" Pond sked. Phuwin told everyone in the beginning that he need to do extra jobs to help pay for surgery for his sister's eyes that weren't doing well.  Phuwin replied that she was doing okay, but her eyes were aching a lot and he said it would be a while before he had enough money, but he was someone getting close.

"How much do you need?" Pond asked. Phuwin wrote down the amount. Pond's family was quiet wealthy, and Pond even offered to pay for his sister's surgery. This made Phuwin angry, though he didn't know why. It was such a sweet gesture on his part. 

"Look, I don't need some rich dude paying for my family okay? I can handle this myself. I've had to work hard for pretty much everything I needed, even college. Don't think you can weasel your way into my heart with your damn charity!" Pond pleaded him to listen to him, to make him understand that it wasn't some charity. It was out of the kindness of his heart and the fact that he had cared for Phuwin and always had.  Phuwin's family was always proud, and hardly ever accepted offers, even from Winny or Satang. It was just their way, and Phuwin was brought up to do so with his friends.

"You think I care about you out of pity? You think I like being rich? It never made me happy."

"What? How can being wealthy not make you happy? I would love to be rich!" Said Phuwin, now making some coffee for him and  Pond. He was a restless sort of guy, especially when he was nervous.

"My parents don't have much time for me. My mom owns a really fancy jewelry store, and my dad works for a big oil company, so he spends lots of time away too. Honestly the only close friends I have, are Winny and Satang. The three of us have always been close." 

"I didn't know, I'm sorry you're not closer to your family. If there's anything I can do to help?" Pond went over and took one of his hands that held the coffee grinder. He finished making the coffee for him, and suddenly Pond was feeling things he hadn't felt for Pond in a long time. Since he moved away. He went over the record player and began playing some slow jazz with a heart melting saxophone! The setting was now very romantic.  

"Wanna dance?" Pond asked. Phuwin nodded. He didn't dance well, but he did his best. He could tell Pond was a good a dancer, because he probably had many occasions to, if his parents had fancy parties he was probably invited. They did lots of spinning around Pond even dipped him at one point. Then he gave Phuwin a twirl again so they were practically nose to nose when they were back in position. 

"I'm so glad you're back in my life again." Said Phuwin. He knew his line was incredibly cheesy but he couldn't help himself. 

"So am I. I tried getting in touch with you so many times, but I lost your number."

"It's okay. At least, you're here now." 

Pond smiled, drew Phuwin close, and they didn't hesitate. They let their first kiss happen,  like it was meant to happen for so long now. It felt so natural, and so sweet that it was almost like they had been doing this forever. Phuwin put his arms around his neck and allowed Pond to press against him by holding his waist. When they slowly let their lips part Pond asked softly,

"Too soon?"

"What's too soon?"

"Maybe we should have dated before we let our first kiss happen."

"Is that a request to date me?" Phuwin asked, his heart still pounding. Pond went down on one knee and took his hands in his own. Phuwin looked at him lovingly, this whole scene felt like a dream. 

"Will you date me, Phuwin?"

"Yes." Pond smiled and held his new partner close to his heart. He never wanted to let him go, never.
