Rachel's POV (a few minutes earlier)
Rachel: Honey, where are you?! I'm getting bored! :(
Hubby (Current Client): Bitch don't call me that shit.
Rachel: Why not? It's not like you're married to your work.
Hubby (Current Client): You're starting to make me regret working with you. Now stop with the damn pet names, and keep it professional.
Rachel: Oh my! Professional?! You learned a new word today?!
Hubby (Current Client): Shut up, and tell me where you are.
"Ugh, so boring." I groaned, rolling my eyes as I began typing again.
Rachel: Food court, sitting in the center. You're still coming in through the restaurants ahead of the building exits aren't you?
Hubby (Current Client): Yep. We're locked and loaded, and the explosives are ready to go. Once we step inside, we'll light the joint up and take off before the heroes show up, but after we help you with those little side tasks you asked for.
Rachel: Perfect. How close are you and your members?
Hubby (Current Client): We're pulling up behind the mall right now. Get off the food court, and take some cover. I wouldn't want you to die before I collect my payment.
Rachel: Pfft! Sure honey. I have it waiting for you as soon as I'm finished here.
Hubby (Current Client): DIDN'T I SAY NOT TO-
"Damn he's easy to anger." I started chuckling, sliding my purple hair behind my back as I stood up from my table.
Making my move, I placed my phone away in my pocket before taking my trash off the table and heading for the nearest trash can. My eyes glanced around to all the people currently here, seeing their smiles and movements from one direction to another. All of them were enjoying themselves, thinking today would be just like all the rest. Too bad I had other plans for that, and soon enough this mall will become a wasteland.
Even then, as I was making my way out of the food court, I ended up bumping into someone, seeing him drop his phone before it slid across the floor. "Sorry, I didn't mean to bump you like that. I wasn't paying attention," came out of his mouth as I bent over, picking his device up off the floor. Bringing it up to my face, I managed to get a glimpse of the person he was texting. So, he knows you Y/n?
"No problem. Just make sure you don't collide with the wrong people next time. If you're still around for next time."
I immediately walked away from him, disappearing behind one of the marble pillars and leaving the food court behind completely. While making my way through the crowd of people, my vibration on my phone went off. I took out my phone and unlocked it, seeing the message "Get ready. We're coming through."
A slight smirk came to my face. I stuck out my hands and held them up a bit, tilting my head back much to the annoyance and discomfort of the people around. While they were giving me weird looks, I just inhaled a large breath of air before releasing it in one go. Before anyone knew what was going on, an explosion was heard in the distance followed by multiple screams. People began to run in the opposite direction, making way for the closest exit before gunshots began to mix in with the volume of all the screaming.
"It begins ladies and gentlemen."
With all these people running in fear from what was going on, I turned around to see the amount of destruction and dead bodies littering the floor. The number wasn't small, but this wasn't gonna be enough. If I'm really gonna get those four out of my way, then I'm gonna need a lot more damage. Until then, let's just stick to the plan for now.
