A groan escaped my lips as my eyes began to open. My chest hurts, arms ache, and my eyes are in pain. I feel like shit, all because I over used my powers fighting those rats. Worst. Day. Ever.

"My heart is a Nuketown baby~"

Alright, I guess yesterday wasn't all that bad. Even then, that was the only good thing TO happen. I got sidetracked, and didn't even spend a single second actually looking for Rise. You think trying to relax before killing this city's number one hero wouldn't net you yesterday's fiasco. To each their own I suppose.

"My body feel heavy. Where am I anyways?"

With a turn of my head, my eyes landed on Ashton who was sleeping on a recliner not too far from me. I forgot I passed out in the break room.

"I wonder what kept him from calling the heroes."

I rubbed my eyes and began to sit up. In doing so, I noticed that there was a huge amount of weight on me. More than I'm used to. Looking down, my eyes landed on a small bump under the cover, so I pulled it up. That bump happened go be Emily sleeping on my stomach. So, I did what any man would've done. I pushed her off of me and watched as she hit the floor head first.

"Oww! My head hurts."

"Next time, don't climb on top of someone else you don't know just to fall asleep."

"You didn't have to push me. I would've moved if you woke me up."

She started getting teary eyes, sniffling as she looked close to letting out the water works. I sighed and ignored her, noticing that Ashton just woke up. He stared at her, then at me, and then back at Emily.

"... I'm going back to sleep."

"You won't help me?"

"You're eighteen Emily. Please take care of yourself too."

"Ok." She said defeated.

Tears began to make their way down as she stood up and walked over to the bathroom. I sighed before standing up and walking over to her, petting her head as I grabbed some tissue to wipe her tears away.

"Stop all that damn crying. We just woke up."

She didn't even respond. She just kept crying before holding my arm suddenly.

"I'm trying." She wiped her tears a bit.

"I'm not gonna tell you to try harder, but I'm sorry only for you hitting your head. Next time, don't be a weirdo at least."

A sigh escaped my lips before I left her to her own devices. I still felt like shit, but now I had bigger things to worry about. For example, what happened to that group that I clashed with yesterday?

Janet's POV

"Hell yeah girls! Didn't I tell you yesterday would be a great fucking day to hit the jackpot?!"

"It would be much better if I didn't get slammed against an armored vehicle head first."

"I second that."

My eyes landed on Bonnie and Maxine, the latter holding an ice pack on her skull. It was hiding a small bump she received yesterday. That dude has some strength, I'll tell you that.

"Not to mention the fact that out of all of us, he didn't hit Vanessa. Lucky bitch."

"Hey, it's not my fault that we connected in ten seconds."

"Don't just leave us to fight him alone and then go down for the count by being pushed inside the van!"

"He had super speed and strength! What was I supposed to do?!"
