Janet’s POV

“Yeah, we’re fucked.” I whispered to myself.

So the whole point of getting us here was to take responsibility for this? Then to top it off, Traveler of all people shows up. If we don’t play this right, me and Maxine are definitely going to prison. Trust me though, I’m not doing time inside a cell.

“Now that the fastest woman alive has arrived, count yourselves in for a one way ticket to an interrogation room once I’m done escorting you all to a cell.”

“Boys, gun her down.”

The moment they all took aim, a few shots began flying through the air. It took a split second before they realized they weren’t shooting at a person, one of the gunmen saying “Huddle up and watch the area. Kill her if you see her.” Looking at this now, these idiots don’t actually think they can really hit her with a bullet do they?

“I’ve had multiple people shoot at me over the two years that I've been a hero. Trust me-” She suddenly appeared between us and the shooters with all their guns in her hand, dropping them to the floor. “Not a single bullet can match my speed.”

All of them began charging her, throwing out punches and kicks hoping one would make contact with her body. When I tell you I’ve never seen such a one-sided fight in my life, I’m not kidding by how utterly pathetic this was. As they closed in, swinging all at once while trying to keep from hitting each other, I saw a pink blur duck a few attacks before she started knocking them to the ground one by one. This woman was making quick work of them.

“Phew! Done. Shouldn’t have put up a fight boys.”

Traveler stepped over them, staring us down as Maxine took a step next to me, her eyes suddenly glowing a bright pink as two drones spawned by the current drone that was already deployed. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed Powerless standing beside me to my left. I snarled at her, but she ignored me and kept her focused on the speedster.

“Traveler! It’s been a while hasn’t it?! How have you been doing over these past few months?”

“I’m not here to hold a conversation with you Powerless. All that I have to say to you will be done once I personally escort you, Duplicator, and Maximum out of here myself.”

“We’re not sticking around for that shit. Maximum, now!”

“Let’s do this bitches!”

A few streams of lasers were shot towards Traveler, the woman disappearing from our sight again. Was it dumb to try and fight a speedster? Yes, but this was part of the plan. I wrapped an arm around Maxine before using my powers to create a clone ladder, shooting us over a few shelves. We narrowly dodged a right hook just a second ago, but the pink-haired woman was back in front of us already.

“You two aren’t going anywhere!”

She jumped up towards us, but Maxine was quicker as she shot her into one of the shelves. Both of us landed on the ground, making our way for the exit only for Maxine to get punched into the wall by strength that I didn’t even know Traveler had. I swung at my left side just to hit nothing before being sucker punched in my face, knocking me to the floor. My clones began to charge her, but I saw them being easily overpowered until she eventually dispelled them from existence.

Suddenly, Powerless jumped from behind her, singing a metal bat in an attempt to crush her skull. Somehow, Traveler knew what she was doing and immediately turned herself around. She grabbed the bat and pulled it from Powerless before delivering a roundhouse kick that sent the purple-haired woman flying into the shelves.

“Tch! Strong as ever huh?” Powerless said.

“Not like I had a choice.” Traveler replied casually.
