Beware the Mighty Octostomp

Later on that night

BOOM! CRASH! BOOM!

"Ugh...I don't have time for this..." I said to myself complaining. "Hey Starburst, wake up one quick second." Lucas whispered to me. He kept shaking me hoping that I would wake up.

I opened my eyes and Lucas points to Inkopolis. Another Splatfest was going on and today it was showing green and purple fireworks. You could hear the music from Callie and Marie as well.

"Aw...we missed it." I said depressed.

"Well...at least we had a chance to see a bit of the fireworks. That's better than seeing nothing at all."

I went over to where he was and sat beside him. "This makes me wonder how Riley and Soup are doing."

"Yeah...but they have a whole city on their side. I'm pretty sure their okay."

It pains me to know that this was the first Splatfest we missed. I actually felt like having another dance with him-

WHAT THE FINK DID I JUST SAY?!

"Well...I guess it's time for us to get some shut eye." Lucas beamed.

"Uh...yeah..." I said soft-spoken. "Let's give it our all tomorrow...ok?"

"You already know we are!"

The next morning

I felt something warm and soft. I opened my eyes just a little. In front of me was a hand...Lucas's hand lying around my waist. When I saw his hand, my heart started to pound a little. No wonder I was warm last night...

I tried to stay as still as I could to make sure Lucas wouldn't wake up. The sensation felt comfortable, so I stayed in my position.

....What am I doing? I didn't have this big of an interest in him back at splat school! Things have changed since I moved away from my hometown, Squidville. Is there a chance I maybe...like him?

No...he was a bad boy...but turned into a sweet one...he teased me...but tried to make up for it...he's my bestie...but what if things turn out wrong between me and him? No...I don't think he would have an interest in me anyway.

Cap'n's home isn't really the sharpest on the block. Does this guy even have a bed? I looked over the horizon. The sun was shining brightly and no clouds were showing.

"WAKE UP, LADS!" Cap'n shouted.

You've got to be squidding me...

"Those Zapfish aren't going to save themselves ya know? Time to get a move on! That big guy's waiting for ya!"

(I just battled two squids names Lucas and Evan on Splatoon.)

Lucas was waking up due to Cap'n's shouting. I pretended to be asleep for the time being. Lucas realized what he was doing and quickly kept his arm off around me. "Wake up, Starburst!" he said. "Time to go!"

We both headed to the Octostomp's lair. Lucas pulled something out of his pocket.

"What're you doing?" I asked.

"Putting stickers on the pipe of course. This way we'll know whether or not if we've been here or not."

I didn't even think about that.

"You ready?" I asked. He nodded his head jumped in with me.

The Mighty Octostomp's Lair

The lair was filled with lights. The place could be similar to a secret base of some kind. I don't think anyone has been down here in days.

"Has anyone even been down here? It smells like-" Lucas said.

"Hold on...do you hear that?" I asked.

I heard sounds of screaming and moaning. The sounds were close enough to...despair and mercy. They almost sound like...people...

"I think I need to go change my pants..."Lucas said.

I looked at him and gave him the 'are you for real right now' face.

"I'm just squidding around ya know?" he laughed.

"We'll see about that after we beat this sucker."

We both went inside the spawn point and were launched into the air. A gigantic block was sitting there doing absolutely nothing. What appeared over it was a Good Zapfish.

"Maybe we should get a little bit closer." I said.

We both tiptoed to the block. Every step would make this moment suspenseful by the second. A tentacle then came out of it and grabbed the Good Zapfish which made Lucas and I gasp. The block turned into a huge beast with green, buck eyes.

"We have to get that thing out of there!" I mentioned.

The monster stood and stared at us making no sudden sounds or movements.

"Hold on just a second." Lucas said. "I just have one question before we start this battle."

"Lucas what are you doing?" I asked.

Lucas walked up to the beast and looked at him in the eyes. He fell on his knees and pointed to the monster's legs. "WHAT ARE THOOOOOSSSE?!"

"ARE YOU FREAKING SERIOUS RIGHT NOW?!" I asked facepalming.

RRAAAAALLL!

"LOOK OUT!"

The monster almost belly flopped him this made me think of an idea.

"I need you to distract him like you just did. You have to use your ink to get him stuck. I'll go up on top of the monster's head and splat the tentacle."

My plan worked perfectly. "HA HA! WE GOT'EM!" I said happily. Just then, another tentacle popped out of the monster. "Or not..."

The monster carefully stood up. The amount of ink we sprayed was dripping off of it. Before we knew it, the monster cleaned itself off and cleaned the battlefield as if nothing happened at all. It did some adjustments to the sides so it would be harder for us to reach the tentacle.

RRAAAAALLL!

We did the same thing twice. The monster had one more tentacle left.

"Crud..." I said.

The monster changed it's sides. We did the same thing the third time. We noticed that it was getting ready to explode.

"Quick, turn into a squid!" Lucas shouted. "It's gonna blow!"

BOOM!

"....you can come out now!"

"That was....AMAZING!" I said in a booming voice. "I can't believe we pulled that off! If we keep this up, we'll rescue the Great Zapfish in no time!"

"Don't get too carried away, Starburst. This is only the beginning. It's gonna get tougher. You sure you're ready for this?"

"If I just saved your retarded butt from an Octo girl while flying in the air like a boss, then you know I'm ready! ONWARD, DUKE RETARD!"

We both went back to Cap'n's house. Whatever is in store for us in the future, we'll be ready for it. It made me wonder if we'll find the old Agent 3...

Lucas and I kept getting further and further into the world whooping Octarian butt. Give us all you've got Octarians cause we're coming for you!

Looks like this book is nearly coming to an end...I'm so sad... I enjoyed writing this. Hopefully I'll finish it before the end of the summer. I love you guys and I'm so glad that I followed you all. That way, we can catch up on the sequel!
