When I got out of the shower, I did my skincare routine and fixed my hair. I heard my phone ringing and had a feeling that it was Adriana, since I forgot to tell her I made it to the new house. I quickly grabbed it and went back into the bathroom with my bonnet in my hand.

I answered the phone and Adriana's big head popped up on the screen.

"You forgot to tell me you made it." she said with an angry look.

"Chill Ana, I made it." I said with a little smile.

"And by the looks of it, you're done unpacking. Which is shocking because if you were here it would've taken you 4 whole days." she said.

"Haha very funny, but you didn't lie, I'm actually shocked that I'm done unpacking my room." I said.

"Well what are you waiting for? Give me the room tour." she said impatiently.

I rolled my eyes and agreed. I showed her my bathroom first, then my room, and lastly my closet.

"Damn Mr and Mrs Williams sure went all out for this house huh. Y'all better have saved me a room or something." she said.

"Ana you gotta come over soon, I'm not playing. You gotta drive down here and see how huge this house is man." I said.

"You got gas money? Cause I'm broke." she said.

"Whatever. You're coming down here one way or another." I replied.

"I'll see. Maybe around Christmas break. Anyways, do you know when you're going to school?" she asked.

"Yeah, ma said next week. And Dakari already got recruited by the football coach once he heard we were moving back to town. Maybe then they'll make us state champs. And ion know about the soccer team, they're kind of ass." I told her all the details I knew about the school.

"Oh and I'm going to Beverly High so I already know there's gonna be a whole lot of white people, so pray for me." I continued.

We kept on talking on the phone until I heard a knock on my door. I told whoever it was to come in and they did just as told. When the door opened, I saw that it was Bryson with his backpack in hand. I smiled as he walked into the room after closing the door behind him.

"Hi B. I'm shocked this is the first time you came up here. I would've thought you'd be here helping me with some of my stuff." I said.

"I was going to, but ma said I shouldn't bother you." he said with his little voice.

"Man you never followed auntie Cece's instructions when it came to me." I said.

"Yeah, but she said if i didn't follow what she said, we're gonna go home." he said with a sad face.

"It's alright B come on and lay down with me." I said while patting the space beside me.

I watched as he opened up his backpack and pulled out his iPad and blanket. Then he got up on the bed and laid down right beside me. I looked at my phone and saw Adriana doing her own thing and I called her name.

"B, why don't you say hi to my best friend Adriana." I said.

"Hi Adriana" he said in a cute voice and cuddled up against me.

Adriana said hi back and I got comfortable with Bryson cuddling up against me. One thing about Bryson is that he loves physical touch. Especially when I'm around. You'd never find Bryson without me by his side. He always loves to cling onto me.

I put my phone down and I watched whatever YouTube video Bryson was watching. In a span of minutes I fell asleep in my cold, purple room.

I woke up from my nap and saw that Bryson was sleeping peacefully beside me. I grabbed his iPad and put it on my bedside table and looked at my phone. Adriana and I were still on the call and the time read 9 pm.

I grabbed my charger and put my phone on dnd. I stayed on the phone with Adriana and I placed my phone down with Bryson's iPad. I then sat up to grab my blanket and put it on top of Bryson and I. After laying back down, I felt Bryson's tiny arms go on top of my body and I fell asleep soon afterwards.
