I walked into school knowing someone familiar is gonna be back. I got invited to see her again for a little cook out that was happening at her aunts aka my coach, but I decided not to show up.

The last time I saw her we had a really bad falling out and ever since then I haven't spoke to her. It was both of our faults but mines truly since I didn't want her to leave and I ended up blaming her for it. We ended up having an argument and I had blurted out that I was in love with her, but the look on her face had changed. She regretted the argument and apologized, but she still said that she had to leave because it wasn't her decision.

When she left, she kept trying to get a hold of me, but I was furious that she was gone so I started sleeping around with people. It was my only way to not think of her. One night I went to a party and got really wasted and posted something on my story about me being with another girl. I said some slick shit and then sent her another photo of me and the rando.

She had opened it because it was the first time I've sent her something in months. She said something to me calling me a "piece of shit" and a "liar". And after that she blocked me. That was when I knew I truly messed up. Now this is the first time I'm seeing her in person and I can't even be with her because I already got a girlfriend.

As soon as I stepped into school, I saw the girl that I was in love with. A smile formed on my face and I admired at how beautiful she looked. I decided to walk up to her even though I knew it was gonna be hella awkward between us.

"I guess the rumors are true. Aaliyah Williams is really back in town." I said.

She turned around, but she didn't have that spark on her face that she used to have whenever I'm around. Her face had no emotion but when I stared into her eyes, I could see a hint of happiness.

"Amara." she said.

"Hey" I said with a smile.

"What are you doing here?" she said with a look.

"Did you forget I go to school here or something?" I asked sarcastically.

"No, I mean what are you doing here. At my locker. Talking to me." she said with a little bit of attitude.

"I just wanted to say welcome back" I said.

"Well I don't need your greetings. Just tell them to someone else. I know you loved doing that when I was gone." she said whispering the last sentence, loud enough for me to hear. I let her slide on that one though.

"Okay chill Aaliyah. I just wanted-" I said until I got interrupted by someone wrapping their hands around me.

"Hi baby" my girlfriend said behind me.
