With Jared
Jared poured himself a glass of type A+ on ice. The sun hadn't completely set yet, but Jared couldn't stay in the coffin any longer and desperately needed blood. The events of the past week had kept him wide away for most of the day. From the attack, his brother's suspisious return, the conversation he had with him just hours ago, and Anna...
"Mind if I join?" Shannon said standing by the kitchen door.
Jared gave him a long look before pouring him a glass as Shannon approached the kitchen counter. Shannon grabbed the glass and drank the whole thing at once while Jared observed silently.
"You guys are up early." Tomo barged in looking tired. He took a bottle of O+ from the fridge, grabbed a glass and joined the brothers at the kitchen wooden island.
Tomo drank a full glass at once, just like Shannon did, then poured another and drank it all. Tomo turned to look at Shannon who was staring at Tomo with a proud smirk on his face. "what?"
"Some things never change." Shannon smiled remembering their past. They had always started their nights with two full glasses of blood in which they drank at once. It felt amazing because it woke them up instantly and made their senses alert and strong at once. Tomo always favored type O+, but Shannon was alright drinking all types of blood with Tomo. Jared favored type A+.
Tomo staring at his glass, showed a small smirk and shrugged. "I was the one who told you about the double drinking thing."
"You did."
Tomo smiled back at Shannon for a minute before looking away. "So...are we going to talk? or just pretend that the last thirty years never happened?"
Shannon drew backwards and bit his lower lip observing Tomo. "I choose the latter."
"Shannon," Jared started before he could stop. " I know that we had our differences in the past and-"
Shannon pushed himself away from the table quickly and walked away. "I don't want to talk about the past. Ever."
"Where are you going?" Tomo asked when Shannon was almost out the kitchen door.
"I need to fix my car." He turned to face Tomo. "And, I"ll go look around. I missed it this town. You up for a ride, Tomo?"
Tomo shrugged and looked at the ceiling. "Maybe I"ll catch up later."
Shannon winked at his friend and walked out the kitchen.
Jared swiftly moved around the kitchen island and followed behind his brother into the mansion's dim hall then called, " Shannon!"
Shannon turned to face Jared and forced a smile. "Just forget what was said last night, Jared. Just think of it as a temporary visit." Shannon walked backwards. "Please, let it go."
" I can't let it got when the first thing you did when you came to this town was try to kill me!"
Shannon narrowed his eyes and paused. "Then tell me Jared, if you really think that I was trying to kill you, how did you survive?"
Tomo camed from behind and seemed to have caught up to the last bit of conversation as he stared wide eyed at Shannon. Jared stared at his brother in disbelief and disgust. There was no response. Jared felt so much anger.
"Let's take a walk out, Shannon." Tomo said after a few intense seconds. "I"ll take you to town later for your car." Tomo walked past Jared and grabbed open the front door. "Come on!"
"Sure." Shannon's eyes turned dark at his brother, giving him a sardonic smile before following Tomo out.
Jared sighed deeply in frustration once the front door was shut behind them. He ran his fingers through his hair and squeezed his eyes shut. Something did not feel right. Shannon did not change much since the past three decades, but Jared knew for certain there was something that he was hiding. The attack was on purpose, that Jared was certain of. Shannon had been in many fights and attacks with his brother, but nothing like this. He needed to know why...
