Previously on Sense of death:
Sarah had invited Shannon to her 24th birthday when he came to get a drink from the diner she works in. Anna was not excited by the news when she figured he was coming but kept quite about him.
Jared had found himself experiencing the effects of what could have been Anna's blood that had lasted in his system from that night she saved him.
Jared tried again to open a conversation with his brother and why he had come to Verum Valley and did not get anything still.
When Jared finally decided to tell Anna the truth about his brother for the sake of her safety and wanting to be honest with her, he found that Anna had already knew about his brother's dangerous deeds and she asked him to stay away from her when she figured she could not trust him anymore knowing how Shannon could threaten the life of her friends.
With Jared
Jared closed the front door behind him and walked to the kitchen, he grabbed a bottle of beer from the refrigerator.
" So?" Tomo joined him in the kitchen, eyeing him cautiously. " What happened?"
Jared sighed and placed the bottle on the counter; he was not much of a drinker anyway. He preferred to face his difficulties while he was sober and in his right mind. But this time it was different.
" Where is he?" Jared asked. For one second his face was normal and the next he was angry. " Where the fuck is he?"
" He left a while go." Tomo frowned. " What's wrong?"
" Nothing." Jared sighed and opened the bottle aggressively, throwing the lid recklessly at the counter letting it roll until it fell to the floor. He took a mouthful.
" Is this how it's going to be then? you leaving me out of the loop?" Tomo put his palms up in surrender. " Fine." He walked to his bedroom door.
Jared sighed and squeezed his eyes shut. " She doesn't want anything to do with me." Jared said before Tomo got to slam his door shut, Jared exhaled deeply. " She doesn't trust me." He turned to look at Tomo then, his face turning red. " Is that what you want to know?"
Tomo shook his head in sadness. " I'm sorry."
" It doesn't matter now." He looked away, grabbing the bottle more firmly. " I just want to get to Shannon and get some answers from him."
Tomo walked out of his room slowly, his heart aching for Jared because he knew he cared for Anna.
" You were right. I should've told her about Shannon sooner." Jared pushed the bottle away now, and stood up. " But I don't want to think about this right now."
" Maybe it's for the best." Tomo grabbed his jacket from the coach and looked at Jared. " Come on, let's go find Shannon."
" No." Jared raised his palm and walked passed Tomo. " You stay here, I need to go to Shannon alone to get him to talk."
With Shannon
Shannon left to chill at a coffee shop, since coffee was the only smell that relaxed his head... he wanted to be surrounded by it and nothing else. However, the place ended up in was packed. There were students gathered around discussing their school work, some older people on their phones or laptops. Shannon was nestled in a corner, observing the rest with focused eyes. When Jared walked in he found him instantly, he looked irritated but prepared. Jared had spent about an hour trying to find him, from vampire bars to local ones to diners but nonetheless, it was a small town and he had found him.
