Chapter 27 : Leonard's rage

Carson's laughter echoed through the castle, triumphant and full of sinister glee. But as he was immersed in his victory, a tremor shook the rubble where Leonard was buried. The ground itself seemed to pulsate with energy, as if something very powerful was struggling to break free. Carson's laughter faded, his expression shifting from arrogance to curiosity.

The rubble vibrated, small rocks and dust hovering in the air. Then, with a tremendous burst of energy, Leonard erupted from within, his form was illuminated by a crimson glow. He floated a few feet above the ground, his wounds healing before Carson's eyes, leaving only small scratches on his body. Leonard's eyes were red, a fire of rage and resolve burning within them, and this time, his power was not wild or uncontrollable—it was focused, deliberate, and deadly. It was different from when he fought Polar. This time he could control that godly power.

Carson took an involuntary step back, disbelief clouding his face. "No... How is this even possible? You were done for, finished!"

But Leonard said nothing, his eyes locked onto Carson. The silence was really loud, as if any words were unnecessary now. With a sudden surge, Leonard shot toward Carson. Carson tried to block the attack, but the impact was beyond powerful. Though Carson had foreseen that attack and was able to block it, the sheer force of the attack sent Carson crashing back, slamming him into the wall. He drew back, barely able to process what had just happened.

Leonard landed gracefully, his entire body emitting raw energy. His presence was so intense that even Carson, who had faced countless enemies, felt a chill of fear creeping up his spine. Professor, who was injured and lying in a corner, could hardly believe his eyes.

Carson, now desperate, lunged forward, his sword slicing through the air with blinding speed. But Leonard moved like a phantom, evading each strike with precision. Every time Carson attacked, Leonard was already gone, moving so fast that he was a mere blur. The tables had now totally turned. It was as if Leonard could now anticipate Carson's every move.

"Stand still, you wretch!"

Carson spat, frustration twisting his features as he swung his sword furiously. But Leonard danced around him, his movements were fluid and effortless. It was as if Carson's once-feared super-power to see the future, was now completely useless.

The two men circled each other, none ready to back down. Leonard's punches flew with blinding speed, fists clenched in fury as he unleashed his anger in every swing. Carson tried to match him, but for the first time, his opponent's raw power overwhelmed his foresight. Each of Leonard's blows came with such force that even when Carson blocked them, the impact jolted through his body, leaving him staggering and backing into a corner. Sparks flew as Carson deflected a series of rapid strikes, but Leonard's assault was relentless, unyielding.

Leonard's voice was a low, growling murmur as he spoke between punches. "You think you can manipulate people, destroy lives, and stand there laughing?"

Another punch crashed into Carson's guard, the impact sending him skidding backward. Leonard advanced, his face set in grim determination. "You killed my friends, tried to tear us apart. Did you really think there would be no consequence?"

Carson could barely keep up, beads of sweat rolling down his face. He strained against Leonard's relentless onslaught, his defenses crumbling with each powerful blow.

"Where did this power come from?" Carson managed to hiss through clenched teeth as he parried another punch.

"How are you doing this?"

Leonard didn't answer. His silence was more terrifying than any threat, his focus unbreakable as he continued to unleash a storm of blows. Each punch hit like a thunderclap, shaking Carson to his core. Despite his foresight, despite his abilities, Carson felt himself weakening, the strength in his arms dwindling with every desperate block.
