Chapter 7

*one week later*

Ethans pov

So today is the last day Heather and Julia will be visiting, but Julia is out with her friends. Heather spent the night, and slept in my room. Heather and I went downstairs to make breakfast, and found Maddie making pancakes. I gasped. "PANNNCAKES!" I said in the voice that used to make Maddie laugh. She wasn't entertained. In fact, she acted like she didn't hear me. She's giving me the silent treatment. I sighed. I looked at Maddie, her hair was down, and I've never seen it like that, its looong, and wavy. She was wearing spandex shorts and a tank top. I bit my lip. Ugh she's gorgeous. Maddie finished and set out two plates of chocolate chip pancakes, perfect with maple syrup, whipped cream, and a strawberry on top. "GRAYSON!" she shouted upstairs. I heard a thud coming from upstairs. "CHOCOLATE CHIP PANCAAAAAAAAAKES!" Grayson shouted and he bounded downstairs. He sat at the table and stuffed his face, Maddie giggled and my heart fluttered. Her laugh... I can't help it. Maddie sat down and ate with Grayson. Heather glared at her. "Fat bitch.." she muttered before Maddie took a bite. Maddie glared at Heather, and looked at me for the first time all week.Her eyes somewhat softened. She harshly put her fork down and got up. "Grayson, I'm going out. Be back in an hour." Maddie said, Sliding on her vans and going outside. Grayson got up and shook his head.

Maddies pov

Ugh I'm so  flipping mad. That girl is such a bitch, and her sister is so nice, speaking of, is that Julia? "Hey Julia!" I waved to her. She smiled and came over. "Hey Madds! What are you doing out here?" she asked. "Nothing, people are just getting on my nerves, needed out. Felt like I was suffocating." I said. "Oh, my sister being mean? Sorry. She heard about you, and she didnt want anyone else dating Ethan, guess shes taking it out on you. But, we are leaving early, so we need to go to the airport like, NOW" Julia said. We speed walked back to the house. "Heather come on! We are going back to Cali!" Julia shouted to her sister. Heather and Ethan came toward the door. "Bye Ethan" Heather winked. "Bye guys! We'll miss you!" Julia said. While Julia and I hugged she whispered "go get em" she winked. "Bye Julia" I smiled. We waved as they left. Everything was finally back to normal. Somer came over and her and Grayson went up into his room to watch movies together, and I was in the living room alone. Ethan came from the kitchen. He had a huge bag of salt and vinegar chips. "Madddiee..." he smirked holding up the bag. I did my best not to smile. He knows I can't resist those. He sighed and put the chips down, sitting next to me. I crossed my arms and kept to myself, despite how close to me he was. "Come on, why have you been ignoring me?" Ethan pouted. I kept my eyes on the T.V. He took my glasses off, and put them on. I looked at him. He crossed his eyes, and a smile crept across my face. Slightly. "Aw come one Maddie pleaassseee stop ignoring mee!" he begged. I took my glasses back. "Ok, I didnt want to do this but.." he stopped. I looked at him confused. Then, he started to tickle me. I laughed. "ETHAAAAAAAAAAN STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!" I giggled. "ok, now tell me why you've been ignoring me" he said. I took a deep breathe. Here goes nothing. 

"I... have like you since the 6th grade. And.. you have dated so many people... you left them broken.. even Ariana. I avoided you forever, I was so afraid of having feelings for people because I always end up losing them somehow, from my family to Ms. Ward.. I was afraid to be a person, to speak out, to live. Then that day, when we started talking, and then you asked me to go out sometime... Ethan, I wanted to say yes. I really did, but I was afraid of losing you for good. Of losing any chance with you. Then I tried avoiding you to see if I could stop being so inlove with you, but that didnt work because I had to move in with you. Nicole convinced me to let my old self out, and I was going to go with it, and then my feelings for you became stronger than ever before. When we were cuddling while watching that movie, my heart fluttered. I thought you still liked me and I had a chance... but then Heather came along and... I lost hope. I have been avoiding you because I'm afraid to face my feelings, afriad to admit what was really going on.. trying to act like I didnt care.. but I do because..I love you Ethan.." I said. I felt a tear roll down my cheek. Ethan just looked at me. "I'm sorry I-" I was cut off by him smashing his lips onto mine. He used his thumb to swipe the tear off my face. "I love you too, Maddie. And.. I want you to be my girlfriend." he said. I hesitated.. "Yes." I said and he smiled. He kissed me again. "Okay, how bout we take those chips, go upstairs into your room, and watch orange is the new black on Netflix" Ethan smirked. "You know me so well" I smiled and he winked. This is great!

But where has Nicole been for the past week......?
