the air in the classroom crackled with tension as woonhak and riwoo faced each other, their voices rising with barely contained irritation. a simple disagreement about their project had morphed into a full-blown argument.
"you never listen to me!" riwoo accused, his frustration evident as he ran a hand through his hair, the messy strands framing his face.
"because you make everything unnecessarily complicated!" woonhak shot back, a hint of heat in his cheeks.
"unnecessarily complicated? i'm trying to keep us organized!" riwoo countered, his voice sharp, but beneath the annoyance, a pulse of something else simmered between them.
"organized? more like a tornado hit it!" woonhak exclaimed, exasperated, but part of him was captivated by riwoo's fiery spirit.
"whatever, woonhak. maybe you just don't appreciate how much effort i put into this!" riwoo snapped, crossing his arms defiantly.
"effort? it looks like chaos!" woonhak retorted, unable to hide a teasing smirk.
riwoo glared at him, his eyes narrowing. "you think you're so clever, don't you?"
"clever enough to notice when someone is being cute," woonhak replied, the words slipping out before he could stop himself. he blinked, realization dawning as the weight of his comment hung in the air.
riwoo froze, surprise etched on his face, his cheeks burning. "cute?" he echoed, his voice barely above a whisper.
"uh, never mind," woonhak stammered, suddenly feeling self-conscious.
the atmosphere in the room shifted. leehan, taesan, sungho, and jaehyun, who had been observing the entire exchange from a distance, couldn't contain their laughter any longer.
"whoa! did you just hear that?" leehan exclaimed, a wide grin spreading across his face.
"woonhak thinks riwoo is cute!" taesan chimed in, his voice filled with mischief.
"this is ridiculous!" riwoo exclaimed, his face flushing even deeper. he turned to flee, but woonhak was faster.
"hey! where do you think you're going, darling?" woonhak called after him, using a nickname that only amplified riwoo's embarrassment.
