the sun dipped low, casting long shadows over the school courtyard as woonhak and riwoo strolled through, their shoulders occasionally brushing as they shared a quiet laugh. just as woonhak reached out, teasingly ruffling riwoo's hair, an all-too-familiar, biting voice sliced through the air.
"well, well, if it isn't riwoo with his new... replacement," the voice sneered.
riwoo froze, instinctively stepping back, and his face drained of color. standing before them was none other than his ex-boyfriend, gaze dripping with malice and contempt.
woonhak's eyes narrowed as he subtly moved to shield riwoo with his frame. "back the fuck off," he warned, voice low and firm.
the ex merely laughed, a cold, mocking sound.
"aw, is that supposed to be threatening?" he scoffed. his gaze turned sharply toward riwoo, his expression darkening.
"so, you really moved on to this guy? you've downgraded," he spat, the insult laced with venom.
riwoo shifted nervously behind woonhak, his shoulders tense. "leave us alone," he managed, his voice small but steady.
but the ex was relentless. his voice grew louder, drawing the attention of a few students lingering nearby.
"you think you're anything special now, riwoo? you're just as pathetic as you were back then. didn't take long for someone else to put up with you, huh?"
woonhak felt his jaw clench, fists curling at his sides. "watch your fucking mouth."
the ex's expression twisted into a sneer. "and what are you gonna do about it, tough guy?" he laughed, looking woonhak up and down with disdain.
"oh, i bet he has no idea what he's gotten himself into with you, riwoo. no idea how needy and desperate you get. it's sad, really."
woonhak's patience snapped. stepping forward, he positioned himself firmly between riwoo and his ex, his voice steely.
"you don't get to fucking talk to him like that. not now, not ever."
