HochblassenSofia had always wanted to travel the world. But growing up her parents never had the money to, and then by the time she had gotten older they had both passed away. Therefore, giving her no chance of travelling; as she had been too scared to leave the only place she had known by herself. Lièche had been the only place she had known, so despite her dreams of travelling she never did. A part of her had been scared that she would still be stuck in the same town, having never left, in her old age. So, when Oscar had shown up in her life offering her a chance of escape she couldn't help but leap at the opportunity. Not only that but a road trip around Europe, expense free, with a companion; Sofia could not have asked for a better scenario to be presented to her.
And now here she was. Waking up to the most beautiful view she had ever seen.
Sofia couldn't quite believe the sight in front of her when she woke up. Out of the front window of the truck lay a large mountain with a beautiful orange filled sun rising behind it. She had ever seen anything as pretty. Her mouth was dropped in shock and she immediately reached for her phone to take a picture.
In the seat just in front of her lay a rather uncomfortable looking Oscar. He lay asleep with his head rested on the window and his legs tucked into his chest. Goosebumps were raised all across the bare skin of his arms. And suddenly Sofia felt extremely guilty. The blonde looks down at her own body which was engulfed in an oversized black hoodie, that she had absentmindedly slipped on during the night, that also happened to belong to her companion. She gripped the bottom of the item of clothing, pulled it over her head and carefully rested it over Oscars body, careful not to disturb him.
Sofia gripped the door handle of the truck and pushed it open. Climbing out of the vehicle, the blonde traipsed over to a singular bench in the corner of the car park. She sat down on the wooden bench and kicked her feet up onto the fence railing. Her gaze refocused onto the large mountain of Hochblassen. The mountain seemed endless from the twenty four year olds perspective. It looked as if it went on for ever and ever.
"What's got you so deep in thought?" Oscar quizzed as he took the spare seat beside her. His hands were tucked into the pockets of the black hoodie that he had awoken wrapped in. He had to force back the shiver that tempted to run down his spine, not wanting to show his cold demeanour to Sofia.
His voice snapped Sofia out of her trance. "Nothing." She replied softly. She didn't even hear him get out of the truck. Her voice was weak and quiet.
Oscar noticed this. "Have my hoodie." He offered before reaching to remove the piece of clothing.
Sofia shook her head side to side. She put her hand out to stop him. "No. No, it's fine." Sofia didn't want to steal his hoodie again. They still barely knew each other.
"You sure?"
She waved him off. "Yeah."
Oscar sat in silence as he stared off into the abiss, similarly to how Sofia had been moments prior. His mind went silent. It was the first time it had been in days. His thoughts were usually either consumed by one of two women: Lily or Sofia. His ex girlfriend had not crept into his mind since the moment that he had met Sofia, and in a way he hated himself for that. Lily had meant to have been the love of his life, his childhood sweetheart, his soulmate. So, when he laid eyes of Sofia, a part of Oscar felt like he was betraying Lily. Even though they had broke up weeks before that.
