The following day dawned bright and clear, yet Koga Murikami felt a heaviness in her chest as she arrived at school. After last night's confession, her mind swirled with thoughts of Aiko and the awkwardness that lingered between them. She hoped the day would bring a distraction, a chance to find normalcy again.

As she walked down the hallway, she spotted Haruka waiting for her by their lockers. "Hey! How are you feeling?" Haruka asked, concern etched on her face.

Koga shrugged, forcing a smile. "I'm okay, I guess. Just... processing everything."

Haruka nodded knowingly. "You were really brave to tell her how you felt. Not everyone has that courage."

"Yeah, but it didn't turn out how I hoped," Koga replied, biting her lip. "I just feel like I messed everything up."

"Not at all! You were honest with yourself and with her. That's what matters," Haruka reassured her. "Give it time. Maybe she just needs to figure things out."

Koga appreciated Haruka's support but couldn't shake the feeling of uncertainty. She spent the day in classes, but her mind often drifted to Aiko, worrying about how their friendship might change.

During lunch, Koga sat with Haruka, Yugo, and Izumi. Katsumi and the rest of their friends were there, laughing and enjoying the moment. But Koga felt detached, her heart still heavy with yesterday's events.

"Hey, Koga, you good?" Yugo asked, noticing her silence.

"Yeah, just a lot on my mind," Koga replied, forcing a smile.

Izumi leaned in, her expression gentle. "If you ever want to talk about it, we're here for you."

"Thanks, Izumi. I appreciate it," Koga said, though her heart felt like a rock.

Just then, Aiko entered the cafeteria, her laughter ringing out as she joined a group of friends at another table. Koga's heart sank at the sight, but she took a deep breath, reminding herself to be strong.

"Look, I know things are a bit tense with Aiko right now," Haruka said quietly, sensing Koga's discomfort. "But it's important to keep things light. You can still be friends."

"Right. I just... need some time, I guess," Koga said, trying to focus on her food.

Later that afternoon, while the group was gathered outside for a quick break before their next class, Katsumi approached Koga with a bright smile. "Hey, Koga! You want to join us for a little basketball game? It'll be fun!"

Koga hesitated, glancing over at Aiko, who was still surrounded by her friends. "Um, I'm not sure..."

"Come on! It'll be a great way to blow off some steam. Plus, I heard you're pretty good," Katsumi encouraged, his energy contagious.

After a moment's pause, Koga nodded. "Alright, I'm in."

The basketball game started off lighthearted, with laughter and cheers echoing across the court. Koga felt the tension begin to melt away as she played, her competitive spirit ignited. The game was intense but filled with playful banter, and Koga found herself enjoying the moment more than she had expected.

As the game continued, she caught glimpses of Aiko watching from the side lines, a slight smile on her face. Koga felt a mix of emotions—happiness at being accepted into the group and lingering uncertainty about their friendship.

When the game wrapped up, Koga was breathless and exhilarated. Katsumi clapped her on the back, beaming with pride. "You really showed us your skills! I knew you had it in you."

"Thanks! That was fun," Koga said, her heart feeling a bit lighter.

Just then, Aiko approached. "You played really well, Koga. I'm impressed!"
