The school buzzed with excitement as students decorated the hallways and classrooms for the annual cultural festival at Fukuoka High. Bright banners fluttered, and the scent of delicious street food wafted through the air. Koga and Haruka were deep in conversation about their plans for the day.
"Are we still on for the haunted house later?" Koga asked, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "I hear it's going to be the scariest one yet!"
Haruka laughed, brushing her hair back. "Only if you promise not to scream like a baby this time!"
As they chatted, Yugo and Izumi strolled over, hand in hand. Izumi's face lit up with enthusiasm. "Have you two decided on what you want to do first? There are so many booths!"
Yugo grinned, his eyes scanning the festival atmosphere. "I heard there's a fortune-telling booth. We should check it out!"
"Not before we get some food," Koga chimed in, rubbing her stomach dramatically. "I need fuel for all the fun!"
Just then, Sonoi, Sonoza, and Sononi approached, each wearing matching black and red jackets reminiscent of Katsumi's style. The trio exuded a cool confidence that caught the attention of the group.
"Looks like you guys are ready to party," Sonoi said with a smirk. "Mind if we join?"
"Of course!" Izumi welcomed, beaming at their new friends. "The more, the merrier!"
As they moved through the crowd, Sonoza noticed the food stalls and perked up. "What's the best food here? I'm starving!"
"Takoyaki is a must!" Koga exclaimed, leading the charge toward the stall. "You can't come to a festival and not have it!"
The group ordered a variety of snacks, sharing bites and laughter as they found a spot to sit. Sononi looked around, taking in the lively atmosphere. "This is awesome! I didn't think the festival would be this fun."
"Just wait until the performances start," Haruka said, excitement bubbling in her voice. "There's going to be a talent show later. I can't wait to see who participates!"
As they enjoyed their food, Izumi turned to Yugo. "What do you think we should do for our class project at the festival?"
Yugo pondered for a moment, glancing at Sonoi. "We could collaborate with them. Maybe a combined booth? That way, we can showcase both our strengths!"
Sonoi nodded, clearly intrigued. "We could set up a martial arts demonstration. It'll be a crowd-puller, for sure."
"Count me in!" Haruka exclaimed, her competitive spirit ignited. "I'd love to show off some moves!"
"Great! I'll bring the equipment," Sonoza chimed in. "This is going to be epic!"
As the group continued to brainstorm, Koga suddenly pointed to a stage in the distance. "Hey! The talent show is about to start! Let's go!"
They quickly finished their snacks and made their way to the stage, excitement buzzing in the air. As they settled in, Yugo felt a sense of belonging wash over him. With Izumi by his side and new friends surrounding them, this festival felt different—it felt like a new beginning.
The talent show commenced, showcasing a variety of performances from students. Laughter and cheers filled the air as the acts ranged from singing to dance battles. When a familiar face stepped onto the stage, Koga gasped. "Is that Katsumi?"
Sure enough, Katsumi took the stage, his blue-streaked hair shining under the lights. With a confident grin, he began to perform, his moves a blend of martial arts and dance. The crowd erupted in applause, and Yugo couldn't help but admire the talent before him.
