The sun dipped lower in the sky as Yugo, Izumi, Haruka, and Koga made their way to the nearby ramen shop, their laughter mingling with the evening air. The scent of rich broth wafted through the open doors, making their stomachs growl in anticipation.
"Can you believe how much fun we had at the anime store?" Koga said, bouncing on her heels. "I'm still giddy over that Pikachu!"
"Wait until you see how good this ramen is," Haruka said, leading the way inside. "It's my favourite place. You're gonna love it!"
As they settled into a cosy booth, Izumi's excitement was palpable. "I can't believe we found those figures! And Yugo, you really nailed the judging," she said, leaning closer to him, her violet eyes sparkling.
Yugo felt his cheeks warm. "Thanks, but you all had awesome finds. I just called it like I saw it."
Haruka waved her hand dismissively. "We all know you're just being modest! But let's get down to business—what's everyone ordering?"
The group quickly dove into discussions about their ramen preferences, teasing each other about who had the spiciest taste and who would go for the most extravagant toppings. When the steaming bowls finally arrived, the atmosphere was filled with the sounds of slurping noodles and cheerful chatter.
Izumi took a big bite, her eyes lighting up. "This is so good!" she exclaimed, savouring the flavour. "I think it might be the best ramen I've ever had!"
Yugo watched her enjoy her meal, a soft smile forming on his lips. The way she savoured each bite, her expressions animated and full of life, made him feel a warmth inside that he couldn't quite explain. He was grateful for moments like this—sharing good food and laughter with people he cared about.
As they ate, Koga turned to Yugo with a mischievous grin. "So, Yugo, what's it like dating someone as awesome as Izumi?"
Izumi's cheeks flushed, and she shot Koga a playful glare. "Koga! Why would you ask him that?"
"What? I'm just curious!" Koga replied, feigning innocence. "It's a valid question!"
Yugo chuckled, feeling a mix of bashfulness and warmth. "It's... really nice. Izumi makes everything better."
The sincerity in his voice made Izumi's heart flutter. She leaned closer, her smile softening. "You make everything better too, Yugo. I love being with you."
The moment hung in the air, charged with a sweetness that made the noise of the ramen shop fade into the background. Koga and Haruka exchanged knowing glances, amused by their friends' obvious chemistry.
"Alright, lovebirds, back to the ramen!" Koga teased, lifting her bowl for another bite. "This is supposed to be about food, not mushy stuff!"
Izumi laughed, but her gaze lingered on Yugo. "You're right, Koga. Let's eat!"
