𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓, Sasha and I were sprawled on my bed, our backs against the wall, surrounded by a mess of pillows and blankets. The chaos of girls' night was in full swing, filled with laughter and playful banter, and the half-empty bottle of flavored vodka we'd brought out sat on the bedside table.
"I just can't believe how much homework I have due next week," I groaned, leaning back against the wall. "It's like they think we don't have lives outside of class. I swear, if I have to write one more paper about the symbolism of apples in literature, I'm going to lose it."
"Ugh, same! I'm drowning in assignments. Between food science experiments and lab reports, I feel like I'm living in the library," Sasha replied, rolling her eyes. She took a sip from her cup, the fruity drink mixing with the remnants of the vodka. "And don't even get me started on my group project. They're all so clueless!"
I snickered, shaking my head. "Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. I mean, why can't they just get their acts together? It's not that hard to follow directions!"
"Seriously! It's like they think it's a free-for-all," she said, crossing her arms dramatically. "I almost yelled at them the other day. Like, do you guys want to pass or not?"
"Right? At this rate, I'll be the one doing all the work," I joked, taking a sip of my drink and relishing the sweet, tangy flavor. "Maybe I should start charging them for my genius."
"Definitely! You could be a tutor and make some extra cash on the side," Sasha suggested with a teasing smile. "You'd be rich by the end of the semester!"
"Or broke from all the drinks I'd be buying afterward," I said, laughing. "But honestly, I don't think I'd want to deal with them outside of class. It's enough of a struggle as it is."
Sasha nodded, taking another sip from her cup. "And with how crazy things have been, I need all my energy for the weekends. I can't remember the last time I stayed in on a Friday night!"
"Same! It feels weird to just chill, but honestly, it's nice not to wake up with a hangover for once," I admitted, leaning back against the wall. "I don't know how you manage to keep it together."
"I guess I'm just naturally organized, or I pretend to be," Sasha said with a wink. "But it's also nice to have nights like this, where we can just relax and talk about our lives without worrying about the drama."
"Right? Plus, it's so refreshing to vent about all the nonsense we deal with," I said, swirling my drink. "Like, can you believe how chaotic this semester has been? I'm ready for a break."
"Same here! I just want to sit on a beach somewhere and sip fruity drinks without a care in the world," Sasha sighed dramatically. "No assignments, no responsibilities—just me and the sun."
"Sounds like a dream," I agreed, picturing the scene in my mind. "But until then, we've got to power through, right?"
"Definitely! And when we do, we'll celebrate like there's no tomorrow," Sasha declared, raising her cup as if toasting. "Cheers to hopefully surviving college!"
"Cheers!" I laughed, clinking my cup against hers. "And to all the ridiculous moments we'll create along the way. Let's just keep the crazy adventures coming!"
