Miyeon, Heeseung and Jungwon looked all around the local shops and marketplace and even asked the townspeople if they had seen Jaeyun but there was no luck in finding him. With each passing minute, Miyeon's worry grew heavier, her mind racing with unsettling thoughts. She couldn't shake the feeling knowing that Jaeyun could be in trouble.
After a long search with no sign of him, Jungwon sighed, his frustration evident. "We've looked everywhere for him. Where could he be? We've checked everywhere for him," he muttered, his eyes filled with worry.
Heeseung glanced between them, nodding thoughtfully. "Yeah you're right but....' Heeseung paused mid sentence, his face full of realisation, "Wait a sec. If what Miyeon said before is true and Jungwoo really is involved in this," he began, "then Decelis Castle might be our best bet. It's where he'd most likely keep Jaeyun."
Miyeon's heart raced, and she nodded quickly. " God why didn't I think of that?," she mutters, "Heeseung's right. We should definitely check there next," she agreed, her voice determined. She wasn't about to lose Jaeyun to whatever Jungwoo had planned.
As they were about to start walking, Jungwon raised a hand to stop them. "Wait," he said, looking at Miyeon seriously. "We can't just waltz back in there, especially since you've techinally a missing person. They'll be on high alert if they see you with us."
Miyeon paused, realising the risk they were about to take. "You're right," she replied, frowning. "Then what should we do then? ."
Heeseung crossed his arms, thinking. "We'll need a plan to get in undetected. Decelis Castle is heavily guarded, and if Jungwoo or Jaeyun's parents see us, it'll make finding Jaeyun ten times harder."
Jungwon nodded in agreement with Heeseung.
As the three of them stood in tense silence, Miyeon suddenly spoke up, "Wait, I have a plan."
Heeseung and Jungwon turned to her, intrigued but uncertain. Miyeon gave a slight, determined nod, her eyes blazing with a newfound resolve. She leaned in close, her voice dropping to a slight whisper as she told her idea. Heeseung and Jungwon exchanged glances after hearing her idea, then nodded in agreement. The three then set off to the Decelis Castle to go and rescue Jaeyun.
Meanwhile, in the dim and isolated cell, Jaeyun laid on the cold stone floor, his body trembling. The curtain was finally closed blocking out the sunlight, but the damage had already been done. Blisters marked his skin, and a dull, aching pain radiated from his burns. He was too weak to move, too worn down to even try to sit up, but tears of frustration and pain traced down his cheeks.
Jaeyun gritted his teeth, the anger rising in him despite his weakened state. He hated how powerless he felt, chained and blistered, with no means of escape. The cell door creaked open, and there was his brother, his usual smirk plastered across his face, radiating an air of smug satisfaction.
"Seems like you're coping well."
"Shut up and leave me alone, Jungwoo," Jaeyun muttered, barely able to lift his head.
He took a step closer, tilting his head as if studying him. "Poor little Jaeyun," he sneered. "Look at you, lying here, broken. And all because of some human."
Jaeyun's eyes narrowed. "Miyeon didn't do this to me," he snapped. "You did."
Jungwoo shook his head, chuckling softly. "No, Jaeyun. She did. She's the reason you're weak, pathetic even. She's made you vulnerable. You were so much stronger before she came along. Don't you see? She's a weakness you can't afford."
Jaeyun's fists clenched, even as he denied it. "You're wrong," he replied, voice shaking. "Miyeon didn't make me weak. She made me become a better person."
Jungwoo leaned in, eyes glinting with cruel satisfaction. "And look where that got you." His voice dropped to a whisper, dripping with disdain. "Deep down, you know I'm right. She's made you soft and useless."
Jaeyun struggled against the words, but he couldn't shake the weight of his doubt, the nagging worry Jungwoo's words planted. He forced himself to focus on Miyeon's face in his mind, grounding himself in the love he felt for her, willing her to stay safe despite his captivity.
He took a step closer, his presence looming over Jaeyun. With a swift, forceful motion, Jungwoo grabbed Jaeyun by the collar and shoved him against the cold, hard wall of the cell, pinning him there. Jaeyun, too drained to resist, felt the air leave his lungs as his back collided painfully with the stone.
"You know, Jaeyun," he whispered, his voice a low, persuasive murmur, "before her, you were unstoppable. Ruthless, cold, everything that defines the Sim Family. You didn't need anyone to hold you back. And now look at you." His eyes narrowed, and he smiled darkly. "Weak. Desperate. All because of some mortal princess."
Jaeyun clenched his teeth, trying to look away, but Jungwoo's grip tightened, forcing Jaeyun to meet his gaze. His voice became a steady hum, dripping with power, weaving through Jaeyun's mind. Jaeyun felt his thoughts clouding, his resistance slipping as Jungwoo's influence seeped into his mind like a poison.
"Let go of this weakness," Jungwoo murmured. "Remember who you really are. The strength. The power. Miyeon? She's just a distraction, a mere mortal with no place in our world. You don't need her. You never did."
Jaeyun's vision blurred, his mind fracturing under the compulsion Jungwoo was embedding within him. Images of his former self flickered before his eyes. The cold, unfeeling vampire he'd once been, merciless and powerful, chained to no one, unaffected by emotion. He felt himself slipping, the pull of those memories growing stronger, wiping away the warmth and light Miyeon had brought to his life.
"Yes." Jungwoo's voice was a soft, sinister echo in Jaeyun's mind. "Stop caring about her. Be who you're meant to be. You don't need her. You never loved her. She's nothing compared to us."
Jaeyun's heart twisted painfully, and he tried to resist, but Jungwoo's power consumed him, drowning him into a haze of darkness.
His body ached, the burns from the sunlight still fresh on his skin, but the pain was nothing compared to the emptiness he now felt inside. The warmth and humanity he had once embraced seemed like distant memories fading away.
Jungwoo studied Jaeyun carefully, watching as the transformation unfolded, his eyes glowing with a dark satisfaction. The cold, heartless Jaeyun that he knew and desired was returning. There was no resistance now. The compulsion had taken full hold of him.
Jungwoo stepped closer, his voice dripping with venom as he spoke, "Miyeon will probably come looking for you. It's only a matter of time before she figures out where you are. And when she does....I want you to kill her."
Jaeyun remained silent, his eyes betraying nothing but a cold, calculating void, as if his command meant nothing to Jaeyun. The words felt empty to him. He should have been angry, fighting for Miyeon's life, but there was nothing left.
Jungwoo leaned in closer, a dark smile stretching across his face. "You'll be fine with that, right won't you brother? After all, humans insignificant to us. You've known that all along, haven't you?"
Jaeyun's lips twitched into a smirk. His eyes darkened, a dangerous bloodlust igniting within them as his pupils bled into a deep crimson.
"Of course I'll be fine. I mean humans are really just exist to be our bloodbags, aren't they?" he said, his voice low and chilling, the words slipping off his tongue like poison.
