The deaths of Prince Jaeyun and Princess Jaeyun sparked 'The Blood War' . A 40-year war between the Kingdom of Decelis and the Kingdom of Aleroia ignited by the tragic murder of Aleroia's princess at the hands of Decelis' prince. Fueled by betrayal and grief, the war dragged on for decades, leaving both kingdoms scarred by violence and loss.

The war finally came to an end when the rulers of the kingdoms at the time forged the 'Pact of Separation' an agreement mandating that vampires and humans live in isolation from one another, a measure to ensure peace.

However, in modern times, the divide has dissolved and vampires and humans now coexist together without any issues between the two species.

Park Minhee strolled through the serene halls of the art gallery, her gaze drifting from one painting to the next. She was there for a university project requiring her to study and interpret works of art. While most of the pieces fascinated her, one in particular arrested her attention completely.

It was a hauntingly vivid painting titled 'The Crimson Farewell'. The artwork depicted the fateful deaths of Princess Miyeon and Prince Jaeyun, a tale she only vaguely remembered hearing about. The snowy background painted an almost ethereal serenity, while the crimson stains of blood created a striking contrast against the pristine white.

She couldn't look away. There was something about the way the artist captured the agony on Jaeyun's face, his hands trembling as Miyeon lay limp in the snow, her blood pooling beneath her. The heavy snowfall seemed to embrace them, a silent witness to their tragic end.

"The contrast is breathtaking," she whispered, her fingers lightly tracing the air before the frame. The scene was beautiful in its heartbreak, and she found herself imagining the story behind it.

Minhee tilted her head, lost in thought.

"It's a captivating art piece, don't you think?", a deep voice with a foreign accent interrupted her thoughts.

She turned her head to see a tall man standing beside her. His dark black hair framed his striking features, and his piercing eyes. So deep and mysterious. Like they were almost hypnotic. There was something about his presence that was both alluring and intimidating.

"Yes, it really is," Minhee replied, glancing back at the painting. "It's tragic yet beautiful."

The man nodded, his gaze fixed on the artwork. "The story behind it is fascinating too. A tale of love, betrayal, and war. Hard to find something as compelling these days."

Minhee smiled faintly. "I'm not much of a history buff, but it does feel like there's a lot more to it than what's written on the plaque."

"I could tell you more about it," he offered, a small smirk playing on his lips. "But only if you let me take you out for coffee."

Minhee raised an eyebrow, suppressing a laugh. "Is that your way of shooting your shot?"

"Is it working?" he asked smoothly, tilting his head.

"Not even close," she replied, her tone playful.

The man chuckled, unfazed by her response. "Can't fault a guy for trying. But at least give me your number. You never know. Maybe I'll come up with a better approach next time."

After a moment of deliberation, Minhee sighed and pulled out her phone. "Alright, fine. But only because you seem like the persistent type."

He handed her his phone, and she quickly typed in her number before holding out her hand. "I'm Minhee, by the way."

He shook her hand, his grip firm yet gentle, introducing himself with a charming smile.

"Jake."
