Chapter 4: Unexpected Encounter

Niel materialized out of thin air, his deep voice commanding attention. "You shouldn't have killed someone if you're really that weak."

Alawis's eyes widened as Niel squatted before her, his piercing grey gaze burning like an inferno.

"I guess you're really naive," he said, his voice dripping with intensity. "In Hell, you must obey the rule: punish or be punished. Simple."

His gaze locked onto hers, sending shivers down her spine.

"Since you can't handle it, you'll be my secretary."

Alawis's voice trembled. "Your secretary?"

Niel's smile was enigmatic. "Yes, or you can go back to torturing souls."

Alawis's tears dried as she steeled herself. "Okay, yes. I'll be your secretary."

Niel nodded, and they rose to their feet.

"Tomorrow, you'll receive briefing on what to do."

As Niel walked away, Alawis murmured, "Thank you."

Without turning, he acknowledged her with a nod and vanished into darkness.

Alawis's eyes widened. "Did he just vanish?"

Valtira's voice startled her. "That's the spirit, Alawis!"

Alawis almost jumped in fright as Valtira smiled.

"The Lord has commanded me to take you to your quarters, so hold on."

Before Alawis could react, Valtira grasped her arm, and they vanished.

They reappeared in Alawis's room, leaving her dazed.

"What just happened?" Alawis asked.

Valtira replied, "It's called vanishing – being one with Hell, manipulating its surroundings to reach desired locations."

Alawis struggled to process.

Valtira's words echoed. "Get some rest, Alawis. You've seen a lot. Tomorrow, you'll be briefed."

With that, Valtira vanished.

Alawis sighed. "I still can't get used to this."

She settled into bed, her thoughts racing.

"I should get used to this. These are Hell creatures, after all."

As she drifted off to sleep, Alawis steeled herself for the unknown.
