Chapter 7: Consequences of Choice
Alawis recovered from her daze, hearing Valtira's fleeting voice. "You should rest."
After freshening up, Alawis retired for the night, her mind replaying the events of the previous day.
Next morning, a knock on the door broke the silence.
Alawis opened it to find Niel standing there, his piercing gaze menacing.
"What did you do?" he demanded, stepping closer.
Alawis stuttered, backing away. "I didn't do anything."
Niel's cold expression sent shivers down her spine. "Why did you accept the invitation?"
Alawis continued to retreat. "I...I...I thought you'd be happy to see your uncle...since he hadn't seen you in a millennium."
Niel halted, his gaze distant. "Happy...I forget that word even exists."
Alawis stammered, "A-AM sorry...Why don't you just...decline?"
Niel's menacing gaze returned. "If I could, why would I be mad?" He resumed his approach.
Alawis trembled.
"Hell is built on rules," Niel explained. "Everything is done based on deals. You were given options, right?"
Alawis nodded, stuttering. "Y-Yes."
Niel's voice dropped to a whisper. "Once you make a choice, it binds you."
Alawis pleaded. "What should I do?"
Niel's aura calmed, his eyes returning to neutral.
"Valtira will bring you a dress. Wear it. We'll fix this mess together."
With that, Niel turned and walked away.
Alawis breathed a sigh of relief.
She wondered about the dress and its significance.
As if on cue, Valtira appeared with a stunning black gown.
"For tonight's journey," Valtira said.
Alawis's curiosity grew.
"What's special about this dress?" she asked.
Valtira smiled. "It's woven with shadows. You'll be protected."
Alawis's thoughts swirled.
Protected from what?
Before she could ask, Valtira vanished.
Alawis donned the dress, feeling its strange energy.
As night fell, Niel reappeared.
he saw her looking gorgeous
then cracked sound was heard,he just ignore it.
"Ready?" he asked.
Alawis nodded.
Together, they embarked on a perilous journey.
Their destination: Lyrian's kingdom.
