She glanced at the time—it was nine o'clock in the evening.

Her empty stomach growled, loudly clamoring for food. Nan Huaiyi took out her phone and sent a message to Song Yingqing.

N: "Come up. I want to eat boiled fish fillets."

A second later, a reply came in.

Song: "I'm sorry, I forgot to tell you. I have something to do tonight and might not be able to make it."

Nan Huaiyi's brow furrowed involuntarily. Song Yingqing had never canceled plans so suddenly. Without a second thought, she dialed his number.

The call connected quickly.

"What happened?" Nan Huaiyi asked.

Before Song Yingqing could respond, several familiar voices echoed through the receiver.

"Liu Li, stop drinking! Finish it!"

"Peng Can, that's not fair! Why are you only giving us wine? You too, Yang Shuang!"

"Okay, alright! We'll all be drunk soon, but no one is going to take you back!"

The lively and noisy voices continued.

Nan Huaiyi frowned as she held the phone slightly away from her ear. "Are you with Chen Ling and the others? Why's it so noisy?"

It sounded like Song Yingqing had stepped outside to take the call; it took a moment before he responded, "Tonight, the music club had a dinner. I helped them with the last campus exhibition, so President Peng invited us out."

A strange feeling stirred in Nan Huaiyi's chest. "You kept this party a secret? And no one thought to invite me?"

Song Yingqing replied, "...You don't usually enjoy these kinds of gatherings."

"Whether I enjoy them or not is one thing; inviting me is another," Nan Huai said firmly.

Song Yingqing: "..."

After a pause, he spoke again, "Do you want to join us now? We're in room 205 on the second floor of Nanfeng."

"Alright. Wait for me."

With a snap, Nan Huaiyi hung up, stood up, and headed to the elevator.

"Junior, what's going on?" Chen Ling asked, looking up as Song Yingqing returned.

He took his place on the sofa, noticing everyone watching him. "The president is coming over."

"What? Your president is coming here?"

Before anyone could react, Peng Can, who was sitting next to Yang Shuang, froze in his seat.

Seeing this reaction, Song Yingqing glanced at Chen Ling and the others, puzzled.

Liu Li leaned over to Chen Ling, explaining quietly, "He once tried to flirt with our president when she was singing at a bar. She mistook him for a creep and called the police. They lectured him for three hours."

She savored the memory; this incident was practically a lifelong embarrassment for Peng Can. Ever since he discovered that the president of the e-sports club was Nan Huaiyi, he avoided her entirely. Despite the proximity of their clubs, they never exchanged greetings.

"How... how do you all know about this?" he asked, looking at the amused faces around him.

"Funny story, actually," Li Hui interjected. "That night, some of us from the e-sports club saw him. I guess it was fate."
