"Where are we going?"

Song Yingqing turned to face Nan Huaiyi after glancing out the window at the passing scenery.

"First, we'll go to your place to get your luggage, and then we'll head back to the hotel together," Nan Huaiyi replied. "I still have a few things to handle here before we return to City A."

She paused briefly, then asked, "How many days did you take off from school?"

"One week" Song Yingqing answered.

"That should be enough." Nan Huaiyi nodded while playing his fingers in her hand. "We'll head back the day after tomorrow."

"Actually, I don't mind staying at the old house," Song Yingqing said. "There's no need for you to bother yourself for me."

He gave her a serious look without trying to force it.

"I'll stay with you at home if you'd prefer not to stay at the hotel." Nan Huaiyi replied. Her expression was calm, but there was a hint of firmness in her tone.

Song Yingqing hesitated. "...Fine, let's go to the hotel."

Simpler accommodations would be nice, but he didn't want Nan Huaiyi to feel uncomfortable. She belonged in an elegant and sophisticated environment.

After picking up their luggage, the two set off towards City C.

Soon, the car pulled up in front of a International Hotel. Nan Huaiyi stepped out, handed their bags to the two bodyguards, and led Song Yingqing inside.

As they walked, they drew the attention of onlookers. Song Yingqing looked down at his faded black clothes, which had gone through too many washings. His coat and sweater were frayed, making him feel even more out of place in such an upscale environment.

He looked at Nan Huaiyi walking ahead, dressed in a simple white sweater and jeans, yet exuding effortless elegance that set her apart.

A surge of indescribable emotion rose within him, and he unconsciously let his hand slip from Nan Huaiyi's grasp.

"What's wrong?" Nan Huaiyi stopped immediately and turned to face him.

Song Yingqing averted his gaze, trying to hide his expression. "It's... too warm to hold hands."

Nan Huayi raised an eyebrow. "Too warm? On such a cold day? Can you come up with a better excuse?"

She took his hand again, clasping it firmly, and continued walking. Her voice was slightly louder than before. "I don't mind the heat. I won't sleep with you, but I'm not letting go of your hand."

People around them turned to stare.

Song Yingqing's ears flushed red, and the tension he'd felt started to melt away. He was smilling despite feeling embarrassed, he pulled Nan Huaiyi towards the elevator. "Let's go quickly."

The room Nan Huaiyi had reserved was on the top floor. Thankfully, she hadn't insisted on sharing a room with Song Yingqing; instead, she'd booked him the room next door, which put him at ease.

After all, he found it difficult to say no to her, and the idea of having to share a room only made him feel more uneasy.

As soon as he lay down on the hotel bed, a sudden knock sounded at the door.

"Yes?" he called out, thinking it was Nan Huaiyi, but he was surprised to see the two bodyguards instead.

The one of them handed him a bag respectfully. "Mr. Song, the eldest lady asked us to give this to you."

"Thank you," Song Yingqing replied, accepting the bag and closing the door.

When he opened it, he found a complete outfit inside: jacket, sweater, pants, shoes, and even...underwear.
