Mizuki's eyes trailed down to the cup of green tea in her hands. She bit the inside of her cheek as An sipped on her own coffee as usual.
"Hey wouldn't your dad be wanting you to help out at the cafe right now?" They looked up just as the girl put down her mug. She raised an eyebrow and gave her a weird look. "I mean sure but he doesn't really care if I go out just after a long shift, you know that"
"Yeah, I guess" Mizuki smiled, a very pointless smile. She dazed further into her untouched drink.
"Clearly there's something you want to talk about?" An offered, tilting her head slightly. Mizuki wasn't known to act this way— it was good they made it quite obvious whenever they were off. She knew how to read that face ever since high school.
"Well I'm tired" the sun setting outside hit the windows just at the right angle, half of Mizuki's face being painted in a glowing orange. An felt drawn to the sight the longer she looked at her friend.., something she was aware of already.
She took a second to frown lightly— and for another quick sip of jo'. "Don't wanna say? Does it have something to do with the boutique?" The boutique is Mizuki's child, she knows this. Everyone knows this. The pretty pink bow in their hair knows it, being apart of the cutesy nest that is the boutique.
Her hot pink eyes drifted up to meet An's honey ones slowly. Her head fell to the side slightly, the curls of her hair dropping with it. She opened her mouth and opted to look out of the window instead. "Sis hasn't called me in a while" She tried to keep her voice relatively relaxed.
An watched her attentively during the conversation; "Ah.. right"
"Probably kinda stupid to think about it so much since she's busy with her job and stuff, but I can't help but worry a little bit" Mizuki added her usual Mizuki charm to what she was saying, adding some chuckles and smiles here and there.
It all felt lighthearted but An had seen that glint before. That shine that seemed particularly somber. Her heart was clearly bigger than her words.
