            I had gotten up a little earlier than other days. I don't know if it was because of what happened a few days back but the atmosphere between Sylus and I had gone back to the way it was when I first got to the N109 Zone.

We'd see eachother in the corridor and non of us said a word to the other. In fact I rarely saw him, since I went back to sleeping at night.

The surroundings were calm. I sat in the lounge reading a book on protocores hoping to find something about this "aether core". I had never heard about it  but why did Sylus want to keep it for himself?

I massaged my temple. What was he hiding? It annoyed me greatly that I had no idea what he thought about.

Just then, the door flung open and two familiar masked figures walked in. They took off their masks and smiled at me rather brightly.

"Missy?" Luke called.

I waved at them and returned to the book I read.

"We haven't seen you in a while—we thought you'd be with boss..." Kieran said with a smug smirk.

I scoffed and closed the book.

"Don't be smug," I paused.

"I don't need him by my side all the time." That was a lie which they obviously figured out because Luke rubbed his chin with pouted lips

The twins sat on the couch across me, atleast one did, Kieran sat on the backrest.

"We're just teasing you." Luke chimed in.

They were always so observant.

I looked back at the book and somehow, Kieran stealthily appeared behind me.

"Whatcha reading?" He inquired, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.

"A book on protocores," I sighed.

"I need to figure out what your boss is hiding."

The curiosity in his eyes faded. He held his hands behind his back and walked away from me.

The twins sat in silence which bothered me, it wasn't like them at all.

"Spill..." I said glaring at them.

They looked at each other anxiously then back at me.

"What?" Luke asked.

"Tell me what Sylus is hiding!" I snapped.

Kieran was the first to speak up.

"The boss...he-"

He was interrupted by Luke placing a hand over his mouth, they then had a silent conversation with just their eyes.

I immediately walked over to them holding the book like some sort of weapon.

"What is this?..."

"Twin telepathy?...answer me!" I demanded.

Luke removed his hand from his brother's mouth and used a finger to lower the book.

"Listen missy, I can't tell you why—but you know that weird guy that you followed boss to the casino to play against?"

I stood up straight and had my arms folded.

"Yeah..."

"Well he's the one after you...he wanted to meet you but..." Luke said his voice almost a whisper.

"But...?"

"Boss wouldn't let him..." Kieran finished.

"So he sent a search party?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.
