AIDEN

My last thread of patience is threatening to be snapped at this very moment as I look around to see the room in absolute mess. The room looks like its ravaged by a very strong hurricane as feeding bottles, pacifiers, clothes, toys, so and so are scattered around the room. If only you could name the hurricane as Landon King and Brandon King, then everything would make sense.

My dickhead cousin dropped in by my house unannounced, leaving his one-year old twins with me. Astrid and him are spending the day out as "couples" after long time, and since the twins Nanny is on leave they decided to chuck the devils in my care.

Don't get me wrong, I was the dutiful, loving uncle before few hours. Many things has changed since, I am not the same man anymore. I definitely underestimated the twins, I thought if I can handle Eli then I can handle them. Scratch that, my son looks like an angel in comparison to them.

Whatever weird twin telepathy they have is driving me nuts. They seem to look into each other's eyes and decide to make my life hell. The message seem to be "Let's give Uncle Aiden some hard time, brother".

I hold on to Lan who is trying to squirm out of my hold to join his twin brother whom I can't find. I am sure he is still in the room because I locked the door. One minute I was changing Lan's outfit and the next thing I know is the other one went missing. MISSING.

"Bran, Where are you? Come out, the game is over buddy" I call out for the missing twin.

"Hide and Seek is so boring. Lets play something else" I try again

"If you come out of hiding, I will give you strawberries" I offer his favorite berry but nothing does the trick.

Silence. No answers.

Lan tugs at my shirt urging me to put him down. As if losing his twin is not enough, he plans to disappear to god knows where.

"Bran.. Bran.. Down"

Since they are only one, they don't speak more than few words. Looks like their limited vocabulary includes dishing out orders.

"Stay put Lan. We have to find Bran"

"Bran... Down.. down" he urges.

Hoping he will lead me to his brother, I put him down and he sprints into one corner where piles of toys are mounted. I can't help but chuckle at his small frame, running like a drunk man. Lan runs behind the pile of toys and I follow him to find Bran lying on the floor, his big blue eyes looking between me and his brother.

Relief washes through me looking at him unharmed, Lan joins his brother on the floor and they both seems to be quite enjoying themselves. However I am not sure how long the toys will stay put, it might come down on them any minute. I pick both of them up and they let out a loud screech like I am torturing them. In fact it should be me crying out loud for looking after them.

Despite both of them trying their best to turn me deaf, I take them down to the living room where their cousin is driving his Ferrari. Upon seeing us, he comes running to me and hugs my leg. I put Lan down and ask my son's Nanny Sam to look after him.

"Daddy, can I take him for a ride?"

I think about the possible chaos that could happen if I let him drive his cousin. My son is in his toddler-phase which means anything could be turned into a disaster. While I weigh my options, my son doesn't seem to be having enough patience to wait for my answer. He pushes Bran's leg making him kick his legs.
