Sujal walked into the guest room where Naina was staying. After breakfast, Naina had excused herself to take a call in her room. Sujal followed her, playfully nibbling on her earlobe as he slid his hand across her abdomen. He waited until she finished the call, and when she leaned against his chest, she tilted her head, giving him access to her neck.
"Thank you for such a wonderful birthday surprise. Honestly, I had completely forgotten about it," he said, dropping soft kisses along her neck.
"I wasn't going to let your birthday go by unnoticed," Naina replied with a smile, but when he became more engrossed in his kisses. She playfully smacked his arm and warned, "Don't leave any marks. I still have a mission to complete."
Sujal chuckled softly against her neck, his breath warm against her skin. "I'll try to behave," he murmured teasingly, his lips brushing just below her ear. His arms tightened around her waist, pulling her closer. "But it's not my fault my wife is so irresistible."
Naina rolled her eyes with a fond smile, leaning further into his embrace. "Flattery won't get you anywhere, Dear Husband," she quipped, though her tone lacked any real reprimand.
Sujal smirked, resting his chin on her shoulder while his arms tightened around her waist. "It already has," he countered, his voice playful but laced with affection.
She laughed softly, shaking her head. "Alright, birthday boy, you've had your fun. Now go before someone notices you sneaking into my room again."
Reluctantly, Sujal loosened his hold but turned her around to face him, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "Fine, I'll let you go—for now. But tonight, Mrs. Shikhawat, you're all mine."
Naina blushed at his words, lightly smacking his chest before pushing him toward the door. "Out!" she said, though the smile tugging at her lips betrayed her amusement.
Sujal grinned as he walked out, leaving Naina shaking her head with a fond smile. "Hopeless," she muttered, her heart feeling lighter than it had in weeks.

Naina went out to meet her team, her mind focused on the task ahead. She and Alekh changed into traditional Muslim attire, blending seamlessly with the local crowd. Together, they headed to a nearby police station, intent on gathering information about the human traffickers operating in the area.
Inside the station, they met with a reluctant police officer who refused to share any information. Alekh, always resourceful, discreetly slipped some cash into the officer's hand. The bribe worked like a charm, and the officer smirked, agreeing to leave the room and turn a blind eye to whatever they needed to do.
Once alone, Naina and Alekh got to work, combing through the case files in the officer's cabinet. They worked quickly, flipping through the documents, scanning for anything that could be useful. Suddenly, Naina's eyes landed on a closed case file that sent a chill down her spine. The name on the cover read: Sujal Garewal.
Heart racing, she grabbed the file and opened it, her gaze darting across the pages. It was Sujal's accident case. Something about the details didn't sit right with her. Frowning, she scrutinized the file, noting several inconsistencies in the reported events.
Unable to ignore her suspicions, Naina called over one of the constables. She showed him the file and pressed him for answers. The constable hesitated, clearly uneasy, but finally relented under her sharp questioning.
What he revealed left Naina stunned.
"The Garewals filed this case immediately after the accident," the constable admitted. "But while the family was occupied at the hospital with Mr. Sujal, Mrs. Vasundhara Raheja bribed the officer in charge. She ordered him to close the case, claiming it was just an ordinary accident."
